Welcome to the Blue Pine Retreat! The Blue Pine Retreat is located directly across from the National Scenic Pine River! The area boasts thousands of acres of the Manistee National Forest where many snowmobile, OHV, and hiking trails can be found right out from the front door. Located only 10 minutes from Caberfae Peaks, the Blue Pine Retreat is the perfect place to base your outdoor activities!

We had a very nice stay. It was quiet, peaceful and the forest was beautiful. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The cottage was spotless. It was close enough to downtown Cadillac restaurants when we wanted to eat out. The Cadillac area beaches were nice. This is a dog friendly cottage. I am allergic to dogs but had no allergies. We received helpful communication from the owners during our stay. We had a wonderful time! I highly recommend this cottage.

Caberfae Get Away
We really enjoyed our stay at the blue pine retreat! Nice amenities, awesome proximity to hiking and caberfae for skiing! We had a small hiccup in our stay and the property owner was quick to respond to our messages and to make things right! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful get away!

Cute and cozy!
Blue pine in was an excellent stay for our family of four (plus 2 dogs!). Great location, 15 minutes away from Caberfae Peaks and 20 minutes in to town for restaurants. Everything was as described and communication with the owner was great. Comfortable beds, good WiFi and amenities. The only thing we could find it to be missing was a toaster, not sure if we just missed it somewhere though. Will plan on staying again! Thanks!

Overall it was a fine house but it was our least favorite that we’ve rented. We’ve never stayed at a place that allowed dogs so we weren’t expecting dog hair to be on everything. The worst thing was the shower. It drains slowly and almost overflowed into the floor. I turned the water off unless I was rinsing but when I turned the water back on, it was either ice cold or scalding. When we used the hot water in the sink, it would come out steaming in seconds. I didn’t want to put my children through a shower experience like that. We could have used more blankets. I looked around but couldn’t find any. I did see rugs and stuff shoved under the beds along with lots of dust. Cobwebs were in the dining light, by the bathroom vanity, and where the wall meets the ceiling. Parts of the house didn’t feel clean but the sheets and kitchen were clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pans and cooking utensils. It even had a variety of spices and butter in the fridge. There was coffee and tea options. I brought everything I needed to cook but it was a nice gesture. Communication was good. We checked out early before I received a message with check out instructions. A binder at the house would’ve been nice. The location is near Caberfae ski resort but farther than I expected to Cadillac for restaurants. The neighbors house is junky on one side but the other houses are tidy. It was great to have internet and be able to watch movies. The cell service is minimal.

We stayed over the weekend just to get away from the city with our dogs. Not many places were available to accommodate dogs so we were truly grateful. The home had everything needed for a stress free weekend getaway. We will definitely stay again.

So quiet! The National Forest is across the street which means only a couple of neighbors, and we did not see anyone during our 3-day stay. We also love the pet friendly accommodations. There is a doggy door (for small dogs) that leads to a fenced-in area in the backyard. There is a fire hydrant in the front! We loved the "zoned" heating options. I am typically too warm and my wife is too cold. With a heat source in each room, we were able to create a very comfortable environment for both of us. It was rainy and cool/cold for much of our stay, so we did not get to enjoy the firepit. Hopefully the weather will cooperate on our next visit. We are sure to return and have already recommended The Blue Pine Retreat to our family and friends.

Great get away location, beautiful view
A lovely little stay away from everything. Place was clean and warm, great for my dog too. There was no cellphone service here, which was perfect for what I was looking for, but would have been nice to know before booking. Overall no complaints, and it had everything needed to have a great weekend in the woods.

NOT For Mobility Challenged Travelers
This well stocked cottage definitely includes everything needed for a nice stay EXCEPT: the photos do not adequately show that the bathroom is too small and difficult to maneuver if you have Mobility challenges. The toilet is not ADA compliant, there are no grab bars near the toilet nor in the very small shower. We did reach out to The Host with questions about the accessibility of the bathroom but he did not respond. Thus when we arrived and saw the situation, it was past the window for refund and for our ability to book a more accessible property. We were fortunate to have a relative nearby where we could shower. FIREPLACE PHOTOS DEPICTED IN THE LISTING ARE DECEPTIVE. A large photo of a blazing fireplace is pasted on the front of the non-functioning fireplace. There is no chance to enjoy a fire inside the cabin.
