I began my career in this zoo. I was very proud of what we accomplished. All I can say is Don’t Bother. The city of Monroe should be ashamed of what they have allowed to become of this once grand facility. The USDA needs to inspect this zoo immediately. As a now retired zoo professional I can tell you that the remaining buildings in this place are death traps and should be demolished immediately and many of the animals should be relocated to other facilities that are more qualified to care for them.
