Castle Varagh Hotel & Bar
8/10 Good
"The parking is behind the hotel and room key card will open the gate. Staff were great, very helpful. Breakfast starts at 0800 on weekdays. We explained on our last day that we would be leaving the hotel at 0720 but there was no offer to take away a bag with items for the journey. The room was nice, bed a little small to what we are used to and the shower was amazing. The TV was small but we used iPads to watch what we wanted. Overall a good hotel and we would stay again when in Ireland."
Cabra Castle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"First trip to Ireland and just had to stay at a castle, this was an amazing location! Felt the history behind the castle in every room. There were many lawn games to play, large chess boards, lawn bowling, etc. Beautiful grounds, small gardens hidden away, great place to explore."
Headfort Arms Hotel
8/10 Good
"Everything was great, though it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 8-day Ireland excursion. Given downtown Belfast and downtown Dublin were even less expensive, I'd have to say the price/value of this place is a bit off."
3 bedroom, sleeps 6, beautiful Village in the centre of Ireland
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our time at Una’s VRBO in the charming village of Multyfarnham. This 3 bed, 3 bath house was just what we needed for a “home base” while exploring around Ireland after a few busy days in crowded Dublin. All the bedrooms were upstairs, which was perfect for us (but is just something to note for anyone with mobility challenges). There’s plenty of living and dining space downstairs, and ample free parking in town. The space was beautiful and clean! As a bonus, Una and her husband own the local award-winning bar and restaurant right next door which we were able to try twice during our stay! Mullingar is about 15 mins away by car, which has any essentials, but there’s also a small grocery store in the town of Multyfarnham for your needs. We will definitely be staying again when we come back to Ireland. This was a good home base for day-trips to Sligo and Galway. We also got to see lots of other hidden gems along the way (e.g., Carrick on Shannon and Athlone)."
A Medieval Bolt-Hole in a Castle.
10/10 Excellent
"Phenomenal stay. Sue and Dave could not have been more accommodating. The property is lovely and close enough to drive to everything. If you get a chance purchase a loaf of sour dough bread from their daughter’s bakery. Bed was very comfortable, water was very hot. Would definitely stay again. Lots of great things to see within a 15-30 minute drive. Thank you for everything!"
Renovated farmhouse rural setting,1km from Co Meath village
10/10 Excellent
"Glenboy is an amazing country home. Set outside of Oldcastle, the picturesque landscape and proximity to adventures is unmatched. Each room has blackout curtains, comfortable beds, and an en suite bathroom with plenty of hot water. Our host is very knowledgeable about pretty much everything and quickly responded to our questions. We had a fantastic vacation at Glenboy."
Mullingar Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"The hotel is conveniently located just a short drive from the town. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and the buffet breakfast was a great start to each day."
The Coach house of Durhamstown Castle
10/10 Excellent
"Sue and Dave are the sweetest folks with the most lovely property. We ended a three week road trip at their castle and we could not have been happier. Our accommodations were comfortable, clean, and incredibly beautiful! I needed an ironing board and Sue ran one over to me. Then the iron tripped a circuit and Dave came over to show us which one to flip. My husband and I chatted with them at length one evening and they gave us a peek into the larger house. Their entire property is just gorgeous and we feel so lucky to have stayed there. We can’t wait to come back!"
Fabulous Norman Castle with WiFi in Meath.
10/10 Excellent
"This is a once in a lifetime experience. Make sure to ask for catered dinner from the two wonderful hosts, Sue and Dave. We were a group of nine golfers, stayed for five nights."
