Overall, the property suited my needs very well. It was clean, well-appointed, and in an excellent location. My arrival, after a transatlantic flight, was marred by difficulties of access (wrong code) and the fact that the place hadn't been cleaned after the previous guest. However, the host took immediate and effective action and in the end, I was only mildly inconvenienced. Stuff happens. The host has two flats in the building on the same floor: the larger one (I stayed 3 nights) is in the front and with views over the main street and is noisy from traffic and when the pubs shut. The smaller one (stayed 1 night) was lovely with views over gardens and much quieter. Two more points, one plus, one minus. On the minus, the stairs were not as clean as they should be and the entrance to these flats was cluttered with laundry and cleaning supplies. Not a great look. On the plus, there is an excellent coffee and pastry shop across the road, great for breakfast! I will be happy to stay there again when I'm in Barnet.

I booked this property months in advance for a family wedding. I had messaged the host regarding parking as it was slightly vague in the description. She said there was a parking permit and wouldn’t have to pay etc. A few weeks before the check in, she messages me to say that they do not have a permit and diverted me to the nearby car park where I would have to pay. An extra cost that I was not expecting. I was unhappy and pointed out to that the advertising and messages stated that their was a free parking permit etc. I also asked if there was going to a reimbursement or reduction in my booking. She said no and that I ‘was already getting a property at a highly discounted price’ and that I should book somewhere else. Which I obviously could not do at that late notice. I would not have booked this property if I had known about the parking. If you are booking this property, there is no street parking and the car park is several minutes walk away, which is inconvenient with heavy luggage. I also did not like the messages and response from the host. It did not say the property was discounted and that has nothing to do with me. Do not advertise that you have parking, when you do not. Furthermore. I had also messaged to say that I would like the two single beds made up instead of the king, which they had offered. This was not done and had to do myself and use other bedding from family, as none was available at the property. The property is very clean, which was an upside.
