Clean nice cabin. Beautiful surroundings. Covered porch all the way around. Big areas to grill & get together! Small kitchen area & needed more cooking utensils.
The cabin was perfect! It was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The weather wasn't ideal for a fire but if you would like to sit around the fire a few "camp" chairs would be great, especially for older people. The grill was clean and looked brand new and we had access to more than enough bedrooms and shower space for nine women to get ready! I would highly recommend. The hosts were very quick to respond!
Really nice cabin for a large group! Lots of space to spread out. I will call out that noise really travels so something to keep in mind especially for those sleeping in the loft area. Everything matches what was in the photos, easy to find, clear check in and check out instructions. Overall amazing stay!
Great place with so much room and a huge yard. Love the house it worked out great for a multi family get together. Huge kitchen and room for all. Beds aren't the most comfortable and house is echoy but otherwise great. Quiet area with so much outdoor space. Very good pick!
What a fabulous cabin to spend time with family! Ample space for adults, teens, and kids with a covered porch, hot tub, a yard that goes on forever and so much to explore. Being close to the state park and many trailheads, time was never an issue when deciding where to hike or what attraction to visit. We also spent several nights star gazing since the house is located in a dark sky territory. Was definitely a family vacation to remember!
Amazing property and location. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be returning. It was our first time at Hocking Hills, and we hit the jackpot with this lodge my in laws loved it so much, they were able to extend their stay another night. We highly recommend Pioneer Lodge. You won’t be disappointed!
We didn't use the hot tub.The lid of the hot tub had some funky looking stuff on it so we didn't use it.Pots and pans could be updated.Over all, I have to say it was a beautiful place with plenty of space for my family of 11 and dog.

plenty of space, nice layout for family of 12. Enjoyed the large property grounds. This is the second year we stayed at Pioneer Lodge, poorly maintained this visit. Ice maker not working, missing refrigerator shelf, dishwasher overflowed, tons of flies in house when we arrived. Disorganized kitchen… just needs a more thorough cleaning and check on condition between rentersAll that said we had a great time and love the location.

The property had plenty of room for everyone, my only issue was that two of the upstairs bedrooms were so covered in bugs that one of them became unusable. We only received a 250 dollar refund and I felt like that was not enough to compensate for the amount of bugs in the bedrooms.
Overall we have a good time but has some concerns. It rained both evenings we were there, and since the windows weren't sealed properly, the first night, all of our belongings against the wall got soaked. We alerted the project manager and they sent someone to look at it. The water in the hot tub was green, a company did clean and refill it but it still turned green again. The listing we purchased from wasn't clear that there was a two dog maximum which was a problem for us having three dogs (and the price we paid was a lot but we had been okay with it when we thought we could bring all three dogs). Overall, the cabin was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and it had all the basic kitchen things we needed. Our family had a good time.
Location is everything at this great spot!10-15 minutes (or less!) to all the great hiking trails. The property here at pioneer lodge is excellent! There is a HUGE yard which was perfect for the kids to run around. They spent so much time chasing the dog through the yard too. Great huge porch which was fun for stargazing. The hot tub and firepit were added bonuses for our group. The kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of plates and silverware. The beds were plentiful and decently comfortable. Huge bathrooms, too!The one issue we had with Pioneer Lodge is the lady bug infestation. It was a little nuts. We swept and vacuumed twice a day while we were there because there were SO. MANY. BUGS. Now, we totally understand that it’s the season and we are staying in the woods, but I feel like something should be done about this. Recommendations for the property: a row of hooks by the front door to hang coats, bags, etc. This is something hugely needed for a hiking location! There wasn’t anywhere to hang anything up. Hooks in the bathroom for bath towels that will be reused would also be nice. Luggage racks would be a nice addition as well, so that bags don’t need to be stored on the floor. Would we come back? I think yes!
Pioneer lodge was so nice. We had plenty of room for everyone. We loved that there was a gate we could put up at the stairs to help keep the kids from going up and down. It was a game changer with our son who likes to elope and explore.
