Hosts could not have been nicer. All the modern conveniences of home and a perfect location near Chico, Yellowstone Valley Lodge and Sage Lodge for dining options. Private and quiet. Very happy with our stay!
My husband and I stayed at this cottage for our anniversary. The cottage is gorgeous - tastefully decorated, comfortable and in a lovely, relaxing setting. Highly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.
This was the perfect spot to stay in Paradise Valley!! The cabin was inviting; had wonderful amenities, and Judy was a wonderful hostess! Thanks for sharing Line Cactus!
We had an amazing stay at the lone cactus. From the views to the outdoor pavilion to the inside of the property everything was what we thought it would be and more. This will certainly be our first choice anytime we visit the region. I truly don’t think there is a better option out there!
Wonderful cabin with all the amenities. Comfortable, just right with incredible views of paradise valley. Husband and I fly fish YNP, Yellowstone River and other rivers each year. Perfect location for easy access to Lamar valley, Yellowstone River and some private ranch creeks to fish. Great food and general store within 8 minutes from cabin. Only 25 min to Livingston or Gardiner ad well! Our favorite home base for the park for hiking and fishing to come home to cook and have wine on the porch and play cards!
This cabin is amazing! The views are all around! The cabin is so well done! Every detail is met! The cabin is very clean and comfortable! We enjoyed the places created for sitting outside and taking in the views.
We hope to stay again and again!
It’s that good!
Our family stayed here as a base for exploring yellowstone. The cottage is exactly as it appears, it is just beautiful! The decor and design is very comfortable. We very much looked forward to coming back after long days exploring and hiking. The views are spectacular and you really feel like you are away from it all. The cottage has everything you need to cook in style which is really great! We really enjoyed the stay and do not hesitate to book as it really is as good as it looks!!!
The Lone Cactus cabin is a jewel in the heart of Paradise Valley. It’s a cozy spot to hole up in the snow and the perfect location to explore Yellowstone and the backroads in the area. The cabin is well furnished with a comfortable bed and just about anything you might need. Restaurants (Chico was a fav) and the Emigrant store (anything you desire) are nearby. Looking forward to a return. Thanks to the owners for their warm hospitality!
Our experience staying in this cottage was wonderful. We originally were hoping to stay on site at Chico Hot Springs. They were completely booked out and ended up staying here. Blessing in disguise. It is such a beautiful and quiet area to stay. The weather was less than desirable. We were glad to have somewhere cozy to stay. We will definitely be coming back for a summer trip. The property owners were wonderful and made communication very easy.

So sad to leave!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lone Cactus Cottage. This is such an idyllic little cottage perfectly located in Paradise Valley. As soon as we pulled off the road and spied our "little house on the prairie", we knew that we'd booked the perfect place. The 360 degree views, the adorable cottage and our sweet hosts, made this one of the best vacation rentals that we've ever stayed at. Situated perfectly in-between Livingston and Gardiner, the cottage is well positioned for day trips to Yellowstone National Park but also close enough (25 min drive) to the culinary delights of Livingston to the north. The cottage is immaculate and has all the conveniences that will make your stay enjoyable. While we stayed here for just 6 nights, we could have easily stayed much longer in such a well appointed rental. We will miss seeing the cows out of the back kitchen window, the deer grazing in the early morning and the cute little hare we saw regularly hopping around. The Lone Cactus Cottage was perfect for our first visit to Montana. We hope to be back this winter to experience this beautiful area during a different season and will most certainly be staying here again!

Wonderful Little House on the Prairie
Sometimes we think we want to be in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere, but the realities of those cabins put us off. Lone Cactus however delivers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy The Paradise Valley without giving up any comforts. As a fan of Laura Ingalls’ stories, this Little House on the Prairie really delivers!!
I’ll admit to being more of a Four Seasons kind of girl than someone who enjoys camping. So I was a bit nervous about this booking. But the House is everything I could have hoped for. It’s new, clean, well decorated and had every convenience we could have wanted. The lack of a king sized bed was a negative but we found the queen bed in the master bedroom to be very comfortable.
The house is inside of a neighborhood called Paradise Found made up of gravel roads and is located at the very end. It backs up to a cattle ranch so we had cows grazing (on the other side of a fence) outside the kitchen window. Very charming.
We were only there for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer but our plans didn’t allow for it. We will certainly book this this property again.
This place is perfect. Stunning views in every direction. You'll rarely hear any modern ambient noises (cars, planes....) but you will hear the breeze in the tall grass, birds singing, cows lowing. The owners couldn't be nicer. The property is stocked with everything you'll need. I'll definitely go back.
Amazing property in the heart of Paradise Valley! Judy and Terry were wonderful hosts and made certain to provide guidance for any guest needs. Loved meeting Amen (horse) as he is an absolute sweetheart. Comfortable furnishings, great kitchen with all amenities, a brand new covered outdoor fireplace and covered horseshoe pits. The views of the mountains are 360* and quick access to 540 for traveling. Chico Hot Springs is 10 minutes down the road as is Sage Lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lone Cactus and will be returning!
Thank you,
Rachel, Steve, and Jack
We really enjoyed the cottage. Didn’t get to enjoy areas outside due to rain. And unfortunately due to Yellowstone River flooding we had to leave a day early. Judy & Terry were very accommodating!
My husband and I booked this cabin for our visit to Yellowstone. The cabin is just as listed. It is very comfortable and has all the amenities you could ask for. The host are close by and ready to help with any need. We could not have been any more pleased with our stay.
Our stay exceeded our expectations by a long shot. Beautiful surroundings both inside and out. We were able to relax and it was so quiet! Will recommend to all family and friends as a great place to spend time and see Yellowstone as well
Lone Cactus cabin was the perfect place for our quick stay in Pray! It was just as beautiful in person as it was in the pictures, exceptionally clean, and even decorated for Christmas! The hosts were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Close to Chico Hot Springs, Yellowstone Hot Springs, and good food and entertainment at Old Saloon. We will definitely be back!
We could not have enjoyed our time in Pray at the cottage more. Everything about the cottage was the best that it could be. The is probably the best VRBO we have stayed at. We spent one day in the Park, and another day at Chico and environs, and had the cottage to come back to - which was wonderful. The cottage was a big part of a truly memorable and enjoyable trip to the Paradise Valley.
Thank you for making the cottage available.
