  • I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Very charming hotel. Fun room at the reception floor with sitting areas, pool table, piano, books and games. There’s a small bar there open until midnight. Would be a great place for a group of people to stay. It’s about 6 Kas out of Sintra towards the beaches.

Best to view on Google map some indications on how to locate hotel. Coming from Lisbon watch for bus stops on both side just before bend in the road tucked just behind bus stop on right is entrance WOT sign. There was breakfast but we left earlier than 8:30. They were setting up at 8 it would have been a nice touch to be offered pastries to go. Room was comfortable although some guests were noisy getting to their room. No fault of hotel.

Beautiful location in the mountains and great amenities for kids in the main room. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. The bedrooms were missing basic amenities (like electric kettle), which made it inconvenient. Location is also not convenient for Sinatra main attractions.

Had a difficult time to get hot water in the morning in spite of confirmation during the reservation. Eventually got hot water from Anna in cafeteria who also kindly provided all of tourist attraction parking tips.The room we stayed has a beautiful tranquilent garden with s spacious balcony.

An enjoyable stay.

This hotel is clean and comfortable but not luxurious. The staff are friendly and helpful, most of them speak English. The bedroom was quite spacious, the bed comfortable and very clean, as was the shower room with plenty of hot water. The room did not have a fridge or a safe. Breakfast was a buffet. There was no hot food but plenty of choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereals, bread etc. It is quiet with nice views of Sintra and the surrounding villages.

Amazing location near Sintra in the countryside

Amazing place to stay near Sintra in a quiet area, amazing garden. The hotel has a pool table, a little kids area, electric bike rental. The breakfast was very convenient. The rooms are spacious, a little bit old but very clean. We stayed with our 3 kids and we found the place very kids friendly. There is no restaurant on site but there is a grocery near the hotel and the staff can heat your meal with pleasure.

Long story short, we were enjoying our honeymoon in Portugal and accidentally book this hotel for the wrong dates. I think it wasn’t more than 5 minutes when I asked for a date change it was the week before, and they denied. I decided to keep the reservation because in the end I paid for the service but I think they could’ve done better.
