We just loved our stay at Chalet Ficalho! The building, grounds and decor all radiated old-world charm. The walled property nestled in a neighborhood felt like a private sanctuary. The staff are attentive, professional and accommodating. Everything here is just so pleasant, from the delightful breakfast on the patio to the private outdoor pool. Private parking is a bonus!

What an amazing place this is from the location, to private parking, the food (breakfast & homemade cakes) but the best thing is the owners & staff. These are such warm & welcoming people who can’t do enough for you. We didn’t want to leave for Porto but we will always think about these people, they truly are special!

Wonderful stay at Chalet Ficalho, We stayed 7 days and it was a delight, from a friendly easy welcome, our stay exceeded our already high expectations Our room was large, a huge firm bed, 4 windows, with shutters and blinds for a completely dark room. Bathroom was light and airy, the shower excellent, one of the best and we ONLY stay in 5 Stars today! Breakfast was easy, good coffee, any variation of a cooked breakfast in addition to cereal, fruit, bakeries and meat, truly outstanding, nothing was too much trouble Ficalho is SO convenient, just a 10 minute stroll into downtown Cascais, similarly no more than 10 minutes to the wonderful Marina, great bars, restaurants and cafe A solid 30 minute stroll along the beach to Estoril and with Ubers everywhere, easy, quick and cheap to get into Lisbon faster than a train and for not much more Overall, a wonderful week stay, the owners are attentive and yet offer serene privacy, whether hours by the pool or sat on the veranda enjoying tea and freshly made cake, or reading a book with a glass of wine in the evening, really a wonderful experience, Highly recommended

Golf and chill

I had a fantastic experience. The place is beautiful, interesting, clean, relaxing and in a great location. It is walking distance to the main town, marina and nearby park. As well as being a short taxi to the 3 golf clubs I played at. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful.

Mom and daughter run a great B&B. Historic old house with a lot of character. They do anything to help. Great location - 2 blocks to old town, 3 blocks to the water. Not in the middle of the noise and crowds. House is on a huge lot, so you don't feel closed in. Free parking inside iron gate is very nice. Small pool and grounds to lounge around on. True old world charm and great mom and daughter running the place.

If you like large corporate soulless hotels this is not the place for you. If you like beautiful family-run small characterful locations I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. The location is perfect. A short walk from the bustling town of Cascais. The garden and pool an oasis of calm. Highly recommended.

Old city center is 5 minutes walk museums block away Marina 5 min walk. The best place to stay in Cascais!!! The family who owns the place are the sweetest people!!!!

So many things are noteworthy, if not unique, to Chalet Ficalho... The garden, with its beautiful centenary trees, the family history, the wines, the breakfast cakes, the friendly staff, the cracker-loving dog... and, of course, the owners! It is very conveniently located, just an easy walk to the bustling center of Cascais, with its plethora of restaurants, and an almost as easy (except for the blazing sun!) walk to some of the famous attractions like Boca do Inferno and the lighthouse further along the coast (one of several, by the way).

Charming and historic building - the family home of the proprietor, dating back to late 1800s. Was a serene stay set back from the main square in Cascais, and perfect launchpad for us to get to Sintra and explore. Beautiful surroundings and lovely terrace area for breakfast. We stayed for two nights and staff were really solicitous. The hotel was newly open, so a few things would make the stay truly exceptional - hairdryers in rooms and the wifi code available upon check-in, for instance. The owners have dogs which adds to the family feel; they seemed available throughout our stay and were friendly and warm, going out of their way to meet the needs of guests when there was no decaf coffee at breakfast, for instance. Really well situated after a frenetic few days in Lisbon!

Perfect!

We arrived VERY early because we had to drop off family at the Lisbon Airport but were welcomed nonetheless and shown to our room. We are talking about 8:30 am! The owner offered us breakfast and it was delicious. Breads, eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice. Free off street parking but close to everything. Truly the highlight of our trip. Owbers were so kind and nice and we wish we could have stayed longer!
