Set almost at the water’s edge in Elie Harbour, Granary Sea is a loft-style, second-floor apartment in the historic Granary building – a listed landmark that’s been sensitively converted into contemporary seaside homes. With the sea only metres away and panoramic views over the harbour, pier and coastline from every direction, this is one of those rare spots where you can watch boats, tides and ever-changing light without leaving the sofa. You’re just yards from the sandy beach, with Elie Water Sports and the famous Ship Inn a short stroll along the shore. Wi-Fi is included, and the apartment is pet friendly, so four-legged guests can enjoy the sea air too.
Inside, the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is designed for relaxed coastal living. The lounge space has comfy sofas, TV, DVD player, hi-fi and occasional furniture, with a dining table for up to six set by the windows so you can linger over meals with those harbour views as your backdrop. The modern kitchen is well equipped for easy self-catering, with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine (pods not provided), plus a handy countertop freezer in the hall cupboard.
Sleeping up to four guests, Granary Sea works well for couples, friends or small families. The double bedroom has fitted wardrobes and stylish glass walls with Venetian blinds for privacy, while the twin bedroom offers two single beds and built-in storage. The shower room was completely refitted in June 2024, giving you a fresh, contemporary space with a sleek enclosure, WC and wash hand basin. Replacement double-glazed windows throughout keep things cosy and quiet, while still making the most of those incredible outlooks.
An off-street parking space is a real bonus right at the harbour, making arrivals and days out wonderfully straightforward. From here, you’re perfectly placed for beach days, sea swims, paddleboarding and long coastal walks, with St Andrews and world-class golf courses just a short drive away – all supported by our local St Andrews-based team, with easy, direct booking and insider tips on where to eat, drink and explore across the East Neuk.
