"Hasn't been updated in a while, the pool area is nice, but a heads up is that they wont allow you to bring any food or drink of your own to the whole pool area which is set up with plenty of tables and chairs (not even a bag of chips, or a soda) . Food is allowed, but only if you buy it from them, which can get pricey. The staff was nice enough, but the whole experience would have been nicer if that weren't a rule. "

"Nice hotel located walking distance from many restaurants and cafes, just know that if you have a car and are staying a few days it can get expensive since the valet is $40 per day. Otherwise you can park in another location and it costs per hour which end up being something similar. Other than that the hotel is nice and staff is quite friendly."

"There are widespread mold in the bathroom and multiple stains on the towels. The boiler in the kitchen was not working until I figured out the outlet breaker was tripped. The kitchen trash can does not close well. One of the windows was open in this cold weather! Toilet seat is too small for a normal person. Most surfaces all over the unit have a fairly thick layer of dust. This cannot be missing a few spots by the cleaning person, this is pure ignorance of the owners. Communication was very difficult and only via email and late replies. Dish soap container was broken from the lid. Overall, a bad experience. "

"The hotel is very nice. My wife and I travel to AA frequently to see our son and his family. There isn't enough room for us to stay at his place so we get a hotel room. My wife is recovering from cancer treatments so having a quiet place is helpful for her. As it was our anniversary I decided to book the weekend at the Vanguard. I was in a hurry to check in because we were going to go out for dinner. No one at the front desk explained what the destination fee included. No one mentioned the Welcome Gift. On Saturday morning I asked the front desk staff but they didn't provide a clear explanation. I could ride a bike (it was raining.) or I can get WiFi. The free WiFi was satisfactory. It would have been nice to know about free transportation. Twice when I requested my car the valets didn't know about it until I asked them and they checked their phone then they went to retrieve it. When we checked out I asked at the desk about the Welcome Gift. The clerk had a hard time explaining she but handed us a couple of candy bars. She said next time we check in to ask about it. I would think it is the job of the front desk to inform the guests not the other way around. We did get extra towels when we asked. She made the bed and took the trash. That was appreciated. I saw an old pass key laying on the ground when we checked into the room. It was there when we left. We enjoyed the hotel but were a little disappointed."
