This large, secluded 3-bedroom house has everything you need for your trip to Hometown - Laurel, MS. At nearly 3,000 square feet, it is the ideal place for bigger families to stay, or it is roomy enough for a couple's weekend getaway. Located in a gated community, this house is the perfect place to call home during your stay. The spacious front porch overlooks a pond and large field where wildlife can often be seen. Located close to Green Gates, Rasberry Greene, and The Cottage wedding venues.

Cabin on the Ridge is located 9.3 miles from the well-known Hometown in Laurel, MS.

The original owner of this property was an engineer at Laurel’s own transformer plant, Howard Industries. He built the house and continued adding on as he saw fit to create the unique setup.

This rustic home has historical significance with its wooden floors taken from the old Prentiss Elementary School. This school was near the downtown area where Regions bank is currently located.

Two families met in Laurel since it was the halfway point between us. We chose Cabin on the Ridge because the location seemed to be a quiet peaceful setting. It was terrific. The gated drive added an extra level of comfort. Each family had it own space as well as space to sit and talk, kitchen was well equipped. The covered parking was nice. Close enough to town to be a few minute drive to everything yet not in town to have the hustle and bustle of it. As Pollen season is in full swing, we didn’t get to enjoy all the outdoor space potentially but that didn't stop us from having a great time.

Property was well maintained and the house was every thing we expected. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the pots, pans and coffee maker. All pans had dried egg on them and the coffee maker looked like it hadn't been cleaned in very long time. The pollen was absolutely terrible, no fault to owners, but mats inside the doors would've kept us from tracking pollen thru the house. In the bedroom /bathroom off the kitchen, the glass shower door isn't low enough to catch the water when showering. Water was spraying onto the floor each time.Suggestions for day trips may be helpful and the history of the house would've been interesting.

The home was great! Exactly as advertised. Clean, quiet, and relaxing. Close enough to the city, while still being in a rural setting. The host responds quickly to requests and offers assistance when necessary. Will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Cabin on the Ridge! Very clean and spacious house with plenty of room for our extended family of 7 plus our grand-dog, it’s very pet friendly, and we would love to stay there again when we come back to visit family that live nearby.

Cabin on the Ridge

Absolutely amazing property!! Pictures don’t do it justice. Lots of old wood from an old schoolhouse in town, the floors and walls, some painted some just refurbished. Decorated so adorable. Rooms were huge, with 3 beds in one room, so everyone could spread out! Large front porch for coffee drinking, and a large screened in area in back for a Bar-B-Que!! Host was so responsive, answered all of our questions! We attended a wedding just down the road, it was so convenient and very private! Roughly 10 miles to downtown Laurel and there was a Dollar General within a mile! Will definitely stay again!!

Easter getaway

We used the cabin as a sleeping location mostly. We visited family that lived in town. The location is very picturesque and very roomy to spread out. We would live to come back in the fall and walk around the property when we aren’t on such a time crunch.

Relaxing stay

Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Quiet and relaxing with lots of fun things to do and games to play. The kids especially loved cornhole and darts. The space was much bigger than what you can see in the pictures and the house was very clean. The hosts were very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
