Our Feb 25 Maui Trip

My family and I stayed at the Sands of Kahana for a couple weeks and had a great time. The location of the place is very convenient; close to Napili Beach and DT Flemings as well as places like Bad Ass Coffee and Java Jazz which we love. The view was fantastic as we watched the whales breach and turtles swim along the shoreline. The condo was spacious and had all the amenities. Beautifully put together and maintained by the owners.

Family vacation

This unit was perfect for our group of 8. We had family including 4 grand kids and plenty of room for all. The owners thought of EVERYTHING when furnishing and stocking the unit. The pool and sand toys (chairs, boogie boards, cooler, umbrella, roller cart) were a big hit with our group also. We recommend to all and hope to be back soon.

You can’t go wrong!

A+ host and rental! Fantastic experience all around with renting this unit. Communication with Cindy and Bill was great and the condo is just as described. The condo has everything a family could need for an amazing Maui trip and the Kahana location was great! Thanks for helping us to make some wonderful family memories!

Very comfortable, large condo

The condo unit itself was perfect for our family - 5 adults and 2 toddlers. It was updated, clean and the view is spectacular. We did not realize the restaurant was no longer operating and there is construction underway to build a new one. I imagine the property will be much nicer once that is completed. As it is now, the property and grounds could use some cleaning up and updating. We had excellent communication with the property manager prior to checking in.

The best ocean views, whales and lots of room!

This penthouse was amazing! Tearing ourselves away from the endless Oceanfront views of Lanai and Molokai and the whales jumping just offshore was hard- I could have stayed on the main lanai all week with a Mai Tai just watching. Plentifully stocked kitchen for making any sort of meal, great beds, plenty of towels and the place was huge to boot. It was very clean with beautiful tropical furniture and all six of us had lots of room and privacy. A perfect Maui vacation!

Maui view

Absolutely wonderful 10 days on the ocean in Maui. A view to die for and all the amenities needed. Kitchen very well stocked, beds comfortable, spacious main rooms. Even the small restaurant in the complex offered surprisingly good food and typical Maui prices . Location is a little far for the “tourist” trips but not unreasonable with down town Lahaina being very close. Cynthia was Excellent at making us feel welcome and we will plan on coming back soon!

They Thought of Everything!

The condo was fantastic!! The view was amazing, you could see sea turtles in the mornings and evenings and the sunsets were breathtaking. We stayed for 8 nights and the first night we had dinner at Captain Jacks, the service was pretty good, the food was ok but definitely worth the convenience since we were exhausted from traveling and didn't have any groceries. The condo was so spacious and open while having separate and private sleeping areas. There were paddles for pickle ball and fins for snorkeling and a cooler for the pool. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything; from ziplock bags of various sizes, chip clips and well stocked seasonings. We used the grills in the common area one night and it was clean and ready for use. The beach was small but was not over crowded and the waters were calm. The restaurant scene was very diverse. Maui Brewing Company and Dukes Beach House were our favorite, between the menu options, the service, the delicious food and beautiful sunsets you can't go wrong. Aloha Plate and Mala was definitely over rated in our opinion. We truly enjoyed the Old Lahaina Luau and a Road to Hana tour through Travel Shack. We hope to go back and would definitely rent from Cindy again!

AMAZING

Absolutely AMAZING! We loved every single minute of our stay in Maui. This condo is super clean, spacious, well equipped, beds are super comfy and the view is amazing! AC worked great, washer & dryer in the unit, stainless appliances, updated bathrooms - everything you could want! There were 7 of us total and we had plenty of room to spread out. Gorgeous view, great beach, beautiful condo & great communication from owner

My husband & I travelled to Maui with our 5 kids (ages 18 & up) & this was our home for 10 days. It was a gorgeous unit & property. Views from the condo can't be beat, and the owner was quick to respond with any questions we had. The only minor concerns we had were that the mattresses are very firm (not what we are used to), and the condo is very open, which means you hear everything. All the rooms had portable fans, so adding the white noise helped a lot. I would definitely stay there again, and hope someday we are able to. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us!

Absolutely beautiful!

This was one of the best experiences we have ever had in Hawaii. The condo is amazing and the host has thought of everything! It is so well furnished and contained everything that one could ever imagine needing for a perfect vacation. It is so beautiful and spacious. The furnishings are gorgeous and tasteful. It is like staying in a luxury home with the most amazing views from every room. We will be coming back as soon as possible. We are frequent Hawaii visitors and a bit fussy about cleanliness and functionality. It was spotless! This condo on a beautiful beach has been perfect. Comparable places have been much more expensive. We loved it and would recommend it to all of our friends and family confidently! Lovely, peaceful place with lots of room and so much thought given to guest's every need. All we can say is Thank you!

Fantastic Beachside Penthouse on Maui

Best property I have ever booked for my family. There were 7 of us, including grandma and gpa. PLENTY of space to be with each other and away from each other. Awesome full kitchen, bathroom in every room. The most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Couple that with the balcony door open to hear the surf, best sleep! I was so relaxed I could cry. They have a bunch of beach gear, too. Elevator down and maybe 80 feet walk and you are at the pool and fun bar/restaurant. Walk another 40 feet and you are in the ocean! Great sunset you can watch from any of the THREE balconies. Only weird thing was Grandma kept walking through our room to get to the balcony which you can get to through the living room OR SHE COULD JUST USE THE ONE IN HER OWN ROOM. I SLEEP NAKED so maybe that was the cause.

Anniversary and birthday celebrations in Kahana

Six adults ranging in age from 50 to 79 here in Maui for 8 nights to celebrate a couple of birthdays and anniversaries. The condo was clean and well equipped, with a closet full of beach supplies and everything you could need in the kitchen. The 3 walk in showers were very nice. I’m a big guy and there was plenty of room. The pool and beach are just a short walk from the elevator, and my elderly father with mobility issues had minimal problems getting around the property. The restaurant on site is convenient, but a little underwhelming with so many other options for dining within a short distance. The downstairs king bed could use an upgrade, but otherwise this was a great space for 3 couples or a large family. The views from the lanai off the living room are spectacular and a nice spot to start and end each day. The AC and ceiling fans kept the unit cool, and a washer/dryer in the unit was convenient. We enjoyed our stay in this unit at the Sands of Kahana.

A fantastic stay!!!!

Upon planning my return to Maui (after 15 years) I read all the reviews for this unit in Sands of Kahana (after looking at the listing and photos dozens of times)& finally took the plunge and booked it. Communication leading up to it was just as expected and sure enough, as promised, 3 days before our check-in, we got the instructions. Upon arriving, Cindy-our host, made sure to check in with me to make sure everything was just fine. The condo was just beautiful & the pictures depict it perfectly. I really couldn't believe the view. Yes I had seen the photos, but would it really be that good I had asked myself? Sure enough it was & every morning, & pretty much any time of day we happened to be in the condo-we could see turtles swimming by. That was pure entertainment right there. But along with that, 3 of the mornings, after an overnight rain, we got rainbows!!!! No one told us to expect that! Then there were the sunsets. Boy, was that a treat. One night I wanted to just see it from the condo rather than the beach & it was everything I had hoped for. The amenities in the condo were wonderful as well & a big plus to making our stay even more perfect. There were multiple coffee makers &pretty much any appliance or spice you might need. Beach towels were bountiful as well as regular towels &the washer/dryer was a blessing. We were all so happy with our stay in this unit, it really made our trip absolutely wonderful!

Sands of Kahana

Amazing, amazing, amazing - it doesn’t get any better than this penthouse condo! We walked in and were thunderstruck by the ocean and island views! It feels as though you are floating above the ocean from almost every room and the sunsets were the best I’ve seen - vivid pink and purple sunset tones with both Molokai and Lanai in full view. This place is really huge - 3 bedrooms and three baths with each bedroom a suite of it’s own and even an upstairs second mini-kitchen. Our group of 7 was really comfortable and we never felt at all crowded. We’ve rented a lot of condos and houses in Maui over the years and this one is tops- Spotlessly clean, beautiful furnishings, kitchen with gourmet equipment, blackout tropical woven shades on the windows and Maui-made soaps, shampoos and lotions. The beach closet was full of great stuff to use at the beach, plenty of towels, beach towels, extra sheets, etc. What more could anyone ask for? Added plus- the owners, Cindy and Bill, are delightful to work with and patiently answered all our questions about Maui, activities, restaurants, etc., even though the binder they provide for guests in the penthouse is extensive and up to date. We enjoyed the casual restaurant in the resort (macadamia nut pancakes for breakfast —Mmmm!), workout facilities, put-put golf and sand volleyball court. We ran out of time to try the tennis and basketball courts, but you can’t do everything! The location is right between Kaanapali and Kapalua and is much less crowded than those areas, with quick hops to either area for restaurants and activities. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance - we liked Dolly’s Pizza and the great sushi place across the street. Oh- at least two farmer’s markets within easy walking distance too. We hated to leave and we will be back as soon as humanly possible!

Every Room has a view!

This penthouse is beautiful, large, and well stocked. The rental process was easy. The grounds are well kept and The Sands of Kahana has a happy Aloha vibe where people enjoy the pool, restaurant, the grills, and the beach! We spent most of our time there out on the main spacious balcony enjoying the views of the rainbows, turtles, sunsets, and happy guests frolicking in the waters. Captain Jack's restaurant/bar was great and it's a huge asset to staying there. Next time we will rent the paddleboards but somehow we ran out of time!This condo is large with plenty of space to spread out. Each bedroom has a balcony with either a beach view or mountain view. The family enjoyed having their private spots. The only negative was the room upstairs and the main primary bedroom downstairs have slider walls that do not provide noise reduction. Those trying to sleep could hear everything going on in the main area. So we used the box fans and earplugs if we were in those areas and turned the tv down with closed captions on in the living area...but it would only be a problem if small children would need to have quiet while sleeping.We appreciated that the condo was well stocked with supplies. . The washer/dryer were super helpful and it was stocked with detergents/softener sheets as well. We were glad we brought our snorkel gear as the sets that were available but not reliable. We left our so maybe you'll get lucky but rentals are plentiful. You will love it here!

Paradise

There is no other word for it. The condo was amazing. Check in was easy, the elevators were great for getting luggage up and down. The view was breathtaking. Everything was clean, the amenities provided were great, and the AC was a lifesaver in the 85 degrees heat we had while we were there. Cynthia responded to questions and messages promptly. There was a book of instructions and places to visit that was invaluable. We ate at several of the places they listed and they were fabulous.

Beautiful, spacious, we'll appointed condo with everything you need for a wonderful stay! The view from the balcony was breathtaking! Perfect for whale watching and taking in the sunset.
