We recently stayed at Villa Estrella and found the experience both rewarding and a little disappointing. The villa is in a great location, close to a range of shops and restaurants. One of the standout features is the gated compound, offering a sense of security.
The interior of the villa is spacious and bright, making it a pleasant space to relax. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the entertainment system is exceptionally good, offering channels and movies in multiple languages.
The pool and heated rooftop jacuzzi were mostly enjoyable, although the pool could do with some tile repair.
However, there were some drawbacks. The lack of sufficient outdoor shade (only one small parasol; no cover on both pergolas) made it impossible to use the outside dining spaces during the day.
The property, in general, looks a bit tired and could use some TLC. Sofa covers/ curtains were stained, cushion covers had a distinct aroma of ‘unwashed hair’.
We encountered several maintenance issues, such as broken bulbs and wardrobe hinges, which took a few days to be addressed. Walls and bathroom tiles had several large cracks that had been ‘filled’ in a very rustic way with some sticky white substance.
Sadly, the garden areas were not well-maintained, with most plants appearing dead or neglected, which was a shame as the outside spaces could be really nice.
In summary, while Villa Estrella has several strong points there are also areas that need improvement.
