"A lovely hotel by Lake Towada that is beginning to show its age. It’s a perfectly fine place to stay, and it’s in a nice location, but it feels so empty, having such a large hotel with so few guests."

The staff are very friendly and helpful! The hotel is old fashioned and designed for tourists. The dinner was super delicious in a set of varieties. The breakfast was good too. My room was clean and warm, but need some maintenance or upgrades. Particularly my bedroom was little smelly and toilet seat wasn’t properly installed. We enjoyed their onsens.

One of the most modern and luxurious ryokan we've ever stayed. The kaiseki dinner and the breakfast are skillfully elevated. The grounds are well kept and exudes zen. The onsen bath with a view of the still rock pond is especially striking in the evening. The room is spacious enough for 4. There's samisen concert at night after dinner, there's bookstore, etc.

Everything was amazing! They have free shuttle transportation from the hotel to the train station. The drive to the hotel was mystical. I will definitely be returning during winter.

This is an historic and rustic natural hot spring hotel high in the woods very authentic. A hidden gem. The staff was super friendly and dinner and breakfast included incredible. The hot spring one hot and one warm great to spend lots of time- supper mmmmm. My favorite place this trip. Not new and fancy but relaxing and special

The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast which features local dishes. Kome eice is great. And as long as they serve small bowl of soup with Hinai Jidori meatballs, side dish of tonburi and cut nagaimo, I'll always choose this hotel.
Staff are always nice and kind. A bit of local dialect that they speak also helps relax my mind.
I appreciate the kind service and wonderful time while staying there. Arigato!

Close to a JR station and walkable to the main Odate station, close to a bus stop and the desk is helpful to call a Taxi if that is what you are after instead. Close to the Akita Museum and places to eat, about a 4-5 minute walk to the nearby Lawson's as well as about a 10-15minute walk to the mall which has a big shop for food and drinks as well as a Daiso. Peaceful area, beautiful views of nature and the mountains that surround Odate. I just wish there had been an outlet next to the bed but...
