The kitty is a highlight of this property along with the outdoor shower which is lovely! Thank you for an opportunity to enjoy a slice of Hawaiian life and all the hard work involved in keeping such accommodations up to date and with all necessary things at hand. We wanted for nothing!

Paradise Found

Almost perfect beyond words but I’ll try. Best stay on the island yet (5th visit). We’ve stayed all over the island and we’ve found our paradise. Steps from the ocean yet somehow secluded in the busiest part of the island. We cooked every night on the verandah and bookie boarded past sunset every day. I can’t wait until we meet again Plantation House! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

This is a classic old Hawaiian home one block from the beach. Well located and well furnished. It's not new and shiny and condo perfect, it's a home, which we loved.

Perfectly Relaxing

Our family of four enjoyed everything about the cottage and stay in Lokoa. The owner was very kind and helpful. The accommodations were well thought out. He included beach towels and chairs, buggy boards, and fresh mangos and bananas. We loved the front porch and outdoor shower. All the locals we spoke with were friendly and helpful. We rented bikes from the e-bike place a stones throw away and had a fun ride. Poipu beach was our favorite. The ceiling fans were a godsend. We found some great local restaurants on Rice street. Kauai is a magical paradise and Montgomery’s cottage is fantastic.

This place is literally paradise in paradise - absolutely beautiful location with a gorgeous tree outside and the cottage was perfect for our family of five - could not have found a better place to stay!

Great spot in Poipu

If you want to stay in the heart of Poipu but not have to be in a hotel/condo this is a great house option. It's small and simple but feels legit-Hawaiian in the best of the ways. Location is fantastic.

Family getaway

Good stay for 3 people. Easy walk to beach. Lovely sunrise and sunsets. Plenty to do on the island. Can be as busy or as quiet as you like to be there. Host was very nice and fresh fruit he brought to us was much appreciated!

The Best Place We’ve Ever Stayed in Hawaii!

This was such a lovely, comfortable, cozy cottage. We felt so at home here! Montgomery and Julie are friendly, helpful hosts, the cottage was clean, and beautiful touches like orchids in the house. An easy stroll to swimming beaches. We will be back! If you are someone who prefers something a little more home and neighborhood than the hotels and condos, this is it!

Great Place to Recharge

Comfortable and conveniently located. We loved being a short block from the beach and amazed at the sea life. The cottage had everything we needed (fans in each room were really effective) and was close to many great restaurants. Can’t wait to return!

Delightful cottage within east and close walking distance to Poipu and Brennecke’s Beaches

A beautiful home, perfect for our family’s visit to Kauai! Easy walking distance to Poipu and Brennecke’s Beaches. A short drive to restaurants, shopping, and Shipwreck Beach. Nice floor plan and size of cottage for our family. The outdoor lava shower was a nice bonus, and we enjoyed the front porch for meals and visiting! The property owner was attentive and had great recommendations for restaurants and nearby places to visit. Highly recommend.

If we ever return to Kauai we would stay here for sureagain

This was a perfect house! We had 3 adults and one child and all of the accommodations worked great for everyone. The place was beautiful and clean and more than we expected from the pictures. The check in and out process was a little difficult, especially because we had an early flight and had to take the keys to a different agency. But other than that we had no complaints and we so happy with our choice, it was a wonderful house in a wonderful location.

Amazing stay

The rental was cozy and so close to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and the available beach gear was an added bonus. I can’t wait to stay here again.

Location is everything

The location is 5 star! It's a quick 2 min walk to the beach, and the front porch is private and beautiful. The furnishings are very basic, although there's not much reason to spend much time inside!

Best location and wonderful home!

It was perfect. I’m a mom who took three kids in their early 20s. Everybody found activities that suited them. Easy access to beaches for snorkeling, swimming, sun bathing and our favorite, body surfing and boogie boarding. Great food was easy to be found nearby. I would definitely recommend this property!

Nice island cottage in perfect location

This cottage is perfect for a family of 4-6. It’s got a beautiful island feel. Nicely furnished. It’s cozy and comfortable. The tree out front is incredible and shades the house perfectly from the hot sun. The yard is beautifully landscaped. One thing I didn’t see in the description Is the fact that it shares the driveway with a second house in back. It’s nicely separated and the people there were very quiet and inconspicuous. This was not a big deal for us. Just worth knowing. The house location is perfect. A short barefoot walk to the beach, perfect for kids to boogie board and snorkel. House came with a boogie board and a couple sets of snorkel gear as well as beach chairs and umbrella. So we’ll stocked with beach gear. Overall a great spot to stay! The only other thing I would mention is the check in check out process, which requires picking up and dropping off the keys at the rental agency in Lihue. It’s close to the airport, so not a huge burden, but it takes extra time and planning when you are really wanting to just get to the cottage or back to the airport. A coded entry or key lockbox on the property would solve that easily. Other than that, check in and check out are a breeze. Couldn’t have asked for more from the plantation cottage!

Great Family Place

This was a great place for my wife and two teens. Each teen got there own room. No AC, but big shade tree and sea breeze kept things cool at night. Close enough to the beach. Plenty of room, outside shower helped alleviate the normal one bathroom only issues. Kitchen well equipped for a rental. Overall a great feel to the place, far from the cookie cutter feel at the resorts.
