We considered cancelling our trip due to having a car accident, called Wotif/the hotel manager to discuss and was verbally abused by the hotel manager then had all money drained from our credit card. Even though we had decided to attend because we paid for the accommodation, we were blocked by the hotel manager who wouldn’t take our calls. Currently dealing with the relevant ombudsman to put forward a formal complaint. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel or booking through Wotif.
Location, rooms, very clear, creek staff, easy if check in, overall amenities. It was exactly as it as advertised

Situation exceptionnelle
Si les chambres étaient un peu plus propres tout aurait été parfait. Le patron était adorable, la chambre offre plein de petits détails pour le bien-être du client et le lieu est tout simplement exceptionnel !
This place is in the rainforest, and good access from cairns city.
Our family have arrived at about 18:00.
Room is good mood, and clean.
We have enjoyed BBQ in handmede space. It is interesting.
Beautiful rainforest, twilight, star night, and touch with wild Wallaby are very good!!
Breakfast is very good. Flesh fruit, ham, cheese, bread, tea, coffee, and touch with Wallaby, Peacock!!
Thank very much.
Our family all say I wan to visit agin!
We loved this family run place...the owners were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and so helpful in suggesting trips and places to visit. The kids did their bit to help too and we were given a lovely tour of the property by 5 year old Maive! If you're looking for a quiet place to relax in the beautiful rainforest this is the stay for you!
19Klms from Kuranda then another 20mins on a dirt track. Inside "Resort" was dark! smelt! and totally uninviting. It was a very bad experience as it cost us the total nights accommodation rate as we immediately left. This is not a resort --- it is a retreat for hippies! DONT be fooled by the photos.
Super séjour ! Nous avons très bien été accueillis et avons pu assister au nourrissage de bébés wallabies recueillis et soignés par les propriétaires du resort. Par ailleurs, le restaurant sur place était très bon.
Enjoyed our 2 night stay at Cedar Park very much! Rooms are quite quirky but comfortable and spacious, but the real treat is outside. Great private outdoor area with comfy hammock and chairs and big gardens & natural bush to explore. Friendly wildlife everywhere!
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
LOVED THIS PLACE. The family that owns it is in it for all the right reasons, and it shows. The resident animals are an incredible element all by themselves. The rooms are huge, the beds heavenly, and the showers hot. They serve a fantastic dinner that is not to be missed. If we ever have the luck of being back in the area, we will for sure stay again (and hope to meet the Platypus next time!)
perfect smal scale resort in rainforest of Kuranda
Very friendly management of this smal scale (7 rooms) eco-like nature resort in the proximity of Kuranda. The road to the resort is a smal adventure at night. Perfect spot for day trips in the surroundings
We wanted some chill out time away from the every day things in life - thiscertainly gave us time out and was a wonderful place to stay
I was certainly different with it's gothic quirky style but very relaxing with it's lovely grounds and creek closeby you can hear your own thoughts and the birds are singing with the forest eveloping you
The new owners are still finding their feet and are defintely commited to the future of the business they defintely make you feel relaxed and welcome - and I wish them all the best
The food is amazing in every way and Peter has taken the time to find the right person for the job
They are slowly upgrading things around the place that needed fixing as It took some damage in last years cyclonic weather
Only cons I can think of of, is the fact I booked only one night in Cedar Park.
I loved the room, facilities, food... But above all - the very warm welcome and care the owners gave.
Strongly recommend if you are into a real gateway, located actually deep in the rainforest.
Go there.
I use hotels on my journeys since years but this is the best i ever seen....nice rooms, all like in the ad, fotos are worse than reality, awesome team and owners...very good food and drinks to for the area cheap prices...the nature and the wildlife around are very very beautiful and to eat with a peacock is something special too...all together a little paradise in the hills
It's pretty magical to go out to the covered dining area for breakfast and have a wallaby hop in from the woods to get a piece of sweet potato. They even have on site bee hives producing honey for the breakfast. It is about an hour drive up some winding roads from Cairns, so you definitely need a car to stay there. We did some amazing sight seeing from there though. So I would highly recommend it.
What a fantastic little place this was a few miles from Kuranda. The rooms were spacious and furnished with a real "jungle lodge" feel to them. There is also a nice deck out in front of the rooms with lounge chairs and a hammock. There are only 6 rooms and we were the only people staying there that night so we had the place to ourselves. They have a restaurant and a menu to look at ahead of time to order from to book your dinner. You just tell the chef what you would like to order and what time you would like to eat and he prepares your dinner for you when you want. We ordered a pasta dish each and it was the best food we had eaten since being in Australia (we had been there for 2 weeks). The dessert was well presented and so delicious as well. You can bring your own bottle of wine to the table which we did. We were woken up in the morning by various birds squawking but it was a great experience to be somewhere like this. I would highly recommend this gem!
My wife and I spent a weekend here recently, which is too short a time in such a beautiful place. Another couple of days is needed to appreciate the peacefulness and relax a bit.
