"Our family of 5 arrived at the villa at 630pm tired and hoping for a good night rest. Pressed the bell and knocked on the door before someone came down from the villa. Realised they werent aware there is a booking for the night's stay! We had to wait for a good one hour before that poor caretaker sort out the stay wt the owner for our booking and then cleaned the rooms. No service recovery and no apologies by the owner at all. Utterly disappointed! "

"My family and I had a fantastic time staying at the Weir House. Our only regret was that we could only stay one. From the patio of the house, we could hear the rapids of the river and surrounded by verdant forest. Staying here truly was a highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. Mr. Maha, the manager was so very helpful, including assisting us to book a hotel in Kandi when it turned out that the place we originally booked was a huge disappointment. "We had quite an amazing experience at Marvel Hills. Location very good for local access, complete privacy in the room, and a host who was quite exceptional. Freshly prepared local cuisine for breakfast, great chats with the host, he even arranged for a local spice seller to come and see us, so now we have enough, high quality, spices to last for a good while. "The property and staff were all amazing. The breakfast and dinner was good. Getting a ride via pick me can take some time as not all drivers want to come up the hill. Make sure you a lot enough time for travel. We were going to be late for our train because a PickMe driver canceled. But the hotel made some calls and arranged for a quick Tuk Tuk ride and we made it right in time. "

"While the property is a lovely looking boutique hotel it lacks one critical thing. A restaurant. I don’t know how I overlooked this fact or I would have simply booked at another property. Wish we had another day to spend in this hotel . The staff and manager went out of their way to serve us and beautifully decorated and very homely 👍.
