It's difficult to use the same approach to compare adventure camp accommodation to a city hotel. For what it was the accommodation was good and the hospitality very good. Minor maintenance issues around the camp but this did not impact on or distract from the experience.
Most peaceful sleep on our trip to Sri Lanka. There's something incomparable about going to sleep and awakening to the sounds of only the birds from Yala National Park. The staff welcomed us and made us feel almost as if we were on a home stay. Easygoing. Great food, wonderful and candid conversation. They even curried a jackfruit for dinner that we brought. And fantastic tours with Shermal of the various blocks of Yala National Park. He really knows that park and had a keen and respectful aesthetic for nature and the animals. Everything worked. I wish we stayed longer.
Very friendly owners as their dogs, good simple curry dinner, good camp atmosphere with candles and campfire.
Tents and fittings/amenities old, tatty, and tired, needing repair and refitting. Cleanliness not high although bed and sheets clean. Breakfast and lift out of camp not ready for when we had requested it, and rather poor breakfast served without any questions of choice/preferences so we didn’t eat most of it. Stayed in lost of different places in Sri Lanka and can confidently say that Accommodation, meals and safaris VERY expensive for what you get. Would not recommend until evidence of changes in all of these things.
Our stay was fantastic. The camp was very beautifully kept and designed. We had a lovely welcoming when we arrived with drinks and talked through the camp.
The safari was also excellent with Camp Leopard having the best equipment and vehicles for the safari. I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The tents were fantastic, and beautifully put together.
I could not recommend this place enough.
