"We stayed for a long weekend to visit nearby parks and snorkel with manatees. The cottage is in a great location, about 10 minutes to Crystal River and 10 minutes to the Homosassa Wildlife Refuge (other direction). The owners gave us very specific directions and parking instructions (it could have been tricky to find without them). The cottage is very charming, kind of "Funky Old Florida Bohemian". Lots of whimsy, very welcoming. The outdoors area is great, very peaceful sitting by the water and having morning coffee. If you're looking for something that is super modern and has a full kitchen this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for something off the beaten path with tons of character and charm, this is it! "

"We had an amazing stay! This house has it all. The kids were entertained for hours with kayaks and paddle boards. The location is phenomenal- very close to the springs. The 3 king beds made it comfortable for the whole family. We will be back for sure!"

"This Hidden Gem was so clean and nicely remodeled. You wouldn’t think the inside is what it is from the outside. The best part was there was also boat and trailer parking with it being in the neighborhood … very close to grocery and not too far from boat ramp. The owners were rational and friendly always a plus! We were so very comfortable I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem!"

"The perfect staycation! Our family of 6 wanted to end the summer before school started with a staycation. The host was amazing from start to finish. Some of the perks were a fully stocked kitchen, everything you could imagine was available. We cooked large family meals with ease every night we were there. The pool was a huge hit and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and relax. We will definitely be back! "

"We had a wonderful stay at Halls River Retreat! The house was spotless, well-equipped, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful.The home is beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.The river was clear, cool, and peaceful. Kayaks are launched from the boat-slips in the backyard. We saw all kinds of fish swimming by, a family of river otters at play, and a beautiful eagle flew overhead.We also enjoyed fishing right from the backyard and caught bass and mangrove snappers.Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more!Highly recommend!"

"There are just not enough good things to say about this place. The house is beautiful and well-maintained, there is a full kitchen complete with everything you need to make meals at home, there is a laundry room with supplies to do laundry, there are kayaks and pool floats, and so many more amenities that make this place so amazing. It is a two minute boat ride from the heart of Homosassa Springs, and about a 20 min ride to the ocean. The host, David, is so pleasant to deal with and is wonderful about communication during your stay. I truly cannot recommend this place enough."
