If you are looking for that country cottage idyll where traditional features have been lovingly preserved then look no further as this sweet little Norfolk Red brick and traditional flint genuinely ticks all the boxes. Managing to beautifully mix period pieces with contemporary style, the owner has lovingly created a luxury space that is just waiting for you to come and make your own precious memories. On the ground floor you will find a stylish living room with a open fire. There is also a separate dining area and a very well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor, the master bedroom boasts a decorative original fireplace and looks out over the lanes and fields. Here you will also find a lovely twin bedroom and, most unusually for a traditional cottage, the full bathroom too. There is also a small games room in the pretty little, enclosed courtyard, a space that is perfect for your morning coffee or your evening-sundowner, and this coupled with the open fire in that cosy lounge, makes this a great choice whatever the season.
You will be tempted to relax, chill out and unwind here. Maybe you’ll get to that book you keep meaning to read or just enjoy lovely lie-ins. But venture a little further and you’ll see why you’ve picked the perfect spot for your holiday. The coastline is very close and is packed with coastal habitats to explore. Stroll along the promenade or pier in Cromer, visit the wide sandy beach at Sheringham, take a seasonal boat trip out to see the seals from Morston or enjoy the sea air on the picturesque quay at Wells-next-the-Sea. From here you can also be in the heart of the Norfolk Broads in 45 minutes, drifting along those famous waterways. A mere 10 minute drive will take you to the market town of Holt, or you can visit the fine city of Norwich and discover the famous Norman castle and the host of other attractions it holds. History buffs, nature lovers, golf fans, foodies and walkers will be spoilt for choice here too. Then it’s back to romantic Rose Cottage for a lovely night’s sleep. Bliss!

This is a small but very cosy cottage in the small village of Baconsthorpe, which means it's far from the maddening crowds yet only 3.5mls from Holt and easy access to the coast. The only area I have marked down is local amenities for the village as there are non ie no shop, a pub etc. There are only 2 things I would advise future renters about. These are firstly if arriving during very cold weather the cottage is initially very cold as thermostat set at 6 degrees until you alter it, however with the efficient combi boiler the radiators soon warm up and the cottage begins to feel better after 30 - 45mins. Secondly the stairs upstairs are the steepest I have ever experienced so you need to have good mobility and be reasonably fit. The bathroom is on the 1st floor.Other benefit is that the cottage is very well equipped.
