Beech Cottage is a 17th‑century barn and piggery conversion in a tranquil courtyard on the Devon/Cornwall border. This family‑friendly retreat is ideal for little explorers, with almost 12 acres of gardens, woodland and river frontage to discover.
The cottage sleeps up to 4 guests, with a children’s bedroom featuring tractor‑style bunk beds and a cosy double bedroom for adults. The bathroom has a shower over a petite bath, with toiletries provided. The fully equipped kitchen includes a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cookware, utensils and a selection of herbs, spices, olive oil, tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate sachets. The living area has a real log burner (starter basket of logs supplied), dining table, smart TV, DVD player, books, games, puzzles and a Nintendo mini‑game console.
Bed linen, towels, Wi‑Fi, heating and electricity are included, along with off‑road parking for one car. A high chair and travel cot (with mattress and sheets; please bring cot bedding) are available on request. An EV charger is available on request at an additional cost. Up to two well‑behaved dogs are welcome at no extra charge; different exercise areas are available depending on where the farm animals are, and dogs should be kept on a lead around livestock.
Outside, guests share an apple orchard, children’s play area, paddocks with sheep and pigs, quiet seating areas and access to the River Tamar, with over 400 yards of riverside for walks and fishing.
A shared heated pool (around 5 m x 1.1 m) is open seasonally from April to October (weather dependent) and can be hired for private use at GBP 15 per hour.
Hot tubs are available to hire as an optional extra and are not included in the nightly rate. Each hire includes a clean, freshly filled and heated hot tub for your stay; the charge is GBP 30 per day, minimum GBP 75 per stay, and hire must be pre‑booked. All amenities are subject to availability and operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
