The Granvia South Gate is a great location and hotel in Hiroshima where we would definitely stay again! Next time we would probably get a larger room, as the premium room is a bit on the small side. The western style breakfast was good and the only thing i would change there is the end time from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. Just stayed one night with my family and we didn’t want to leave. The house is over 100 years old but has modern conveniences and was very clean and comfortable. The futon beds were perfect. The AC was strong. And best of all was the food. Dinner was a 12-13 course omakase with fish we’ve never tasted, like blowfish. This place is a total gem. They only have 11 rooms so the staff really gets to know everyone. Amazing staff. The rooms were so cute and comfortable. There's a fun little place to eat Okonomi a minute away, but not much else in this quiet neighborhood. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but you can get a breakfast basket in the morning. Hiroshima Station is an easy 15 minute walk away. Delightful stay.

Coming from the US and wanting to experience a Japanese style hotel, we thought that this would be a nice one to try. We were planning to spend one night in Hiroshima and visit Miyajima as well. The location is ideal as it is directly across the street from the ferry. The shopping street and the famous Itsukushima Shrine is just a short walk away. Very nice hotel, very convenient when arrived at or leaving Hiroshima airport. Provides good amenities. Breakfast is good, too, unless you expect a huge American breakfast.

Such a beautiful hotel, and loved the onsen!

Perfect hotel for our honeymoon. The room had a beautiful view to the sea and nearby islands. The breakfast was very complete consisting of multiple small dishes. Everything was high quality, the rooms, the onsen, the lounge area, etc. Most importantly, the staff and the bartender (Kai) were super helpful and welcoming.
