The Washhouse

The George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, and numerous caverns provide endless opportunity for outdoor adventures. There is also abundant shopping and dining nearby in Harrisonburg, Dayton, or Bridgewater.
The space The Washhouse is located on our small farmette in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We had a lovely stay at the wash house! Trisha and her family were very welcoming and kind. Their 2 dogs were also so friendly and sweet, we loved having them around. The house was stocked with yummy snacks and drinks. It had everything we needed. Would stay here again for our next trip to Harrisonburg.
Super cozy and well-stocked. Kids enjoyed all of the games and really enjoyed the dogs. Property owners were super sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend.
I cannot recommend this stay enough! Trisha and her family were such welcoming hosts (including their two beautiful English Mastiffs). I’ve never experienced such an accommodating stay - small food AND drinks were provided along with an adorable array of homemade jams, soaps, etc for purchase. The stay felt like it was straight out of a movie. Beautiful views, quaint decor, and 10/10 hospitality made for a truly memorable stay.

Great hosts. Communicated and were accommodating. Location was exactly what we needed. We will be back.
This is our second time staying at the Washhouse and we had another peaceful stay. The owners are very responsive and extremely kind. The dogs are a plus!
This is a very relaxing property and by far the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The big puppies are kind and welcoming. Highly recommend! Would definitely stay again! Thanks Trisha and fam! You've done a great job with your place.
Trisha and Derrick were wonderful to work with and so kind when my trip changed due to snow and ice. The Washhouse was so clean and well appointed. It was the perfect place to unwind.
Fantastic property! Decor is simple and takes you back to 1983, but super clean and amazingly well stocked with everything you might need. Host even has snacks and drinks available! She also has jams, soaps, and honey for purchase. The dogs (Mastiffs) are super sweet and friendly. I didn't pay attention and didn't realize there is no wi-fi or TV, but it wasn't an issue for us- but just an fyi. We are parents of a JMU student so we'll be in the area in the future- we'll definitely book The Wash House again!
Property was exactly what we were looking for and was listed accurately. Clean cozy and everything needed was provided. Would definitely stay here again.
My sister and I had a wonderful stay at this property. We were completely impressed by how clean and welcoming this place was. Trisha and Derrick went over and above by adding many wonderful suprises for us.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was peaceful, clean, and relaxing. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and graciously left plenty of snacks and drinks. We highly recommend the Washhouse.
We had a great stay here as we passed through Harrisonburg on our drive from Nashville to PA. Kitchen amenities and snacks were awesome. Dogs were super friendly and we appreciated the advanced notice asking if it was OK for them to greet us. It would have been nice to have WiFi access and/or a TV, but we played games instead.
The family that owns this are very polite. Plus, the mastiffs were fun. The house has everything you need, minus TV/Internet (which we knew). A great setting with farm and mountain views.
Our family enjoyed the charming house over thanksgiving break. All the expected amenities and much more! Our kids (4 and 2) loved all the indoor and outdoor toys too. Thank you for your hospitality!
Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The Wash House was clean and comfortable. The snacks and games were an added bonus! Communication was great and check in was easy even though we didn't arrive until around 10pm. Have already recommended to others!
The Wash House is a small cottage on the grounds of a working farm. It is truly charming and immaculately clean. My daughter and I stayed during a family emergency and the property was exactly what we needed; clean, quiet, enough space to have some privacy but ample space to sit together and talk. The hosts could not have been nicer. They met us when we arrived and were so gracious. The Wash House contained many thoughtful extras as well as snacks, coffee, juices, and sodas. Lastly, the dogs are huge, gentle, and fun to meet. If you read "Henry and Mudge" as a child you will immediately recognize these dogs! We would certainly stay again and are grateful for the kindness shown to us by this lovely family.
Hubby and I needed a place to stay near mountain hiking trails and area wineries for a long weekend. The Wash House was easy to locate and centrally located for our needs.
Our hosts were so nice and provided numerous little extras throughout the Wash House. Decorations in each room made the home feel cozy. Ample kitchen and bathroom amenities were appreciated. And a supply of games added to the hominess of the Wash House.
We enjoyed our stay.
Great Hosts, very gracious, very helpful, very accommodating and Trisha was quick responding to any questions I had. I did not get to spend much time at the property on my trip, but would definitely stay at the Washhouse again. Host displayed many personal touches that were thoughtful and memorable. The house is clean and well equipped including the kitchen with many complimentary items to get you through early mornings (such as I had being in town on business) or perhaps a late night arrival. Surrounding town is easy to navigate as well. Overall, it is a good model for the STR industry displaying top-notch guest experience and quality host operations. One noteworthy item is that the bed was rather firm for me.
