「Really hard to imagine a sleazier place. Most rooms are uninhabitable (undergoing a "renovation," but I got one with new beds--and a water-soaked carpet that literally soaked my socks the one time I took my shoes off. Pool has been closed for years, parking lot is strewn with garbage, TV did not work (I turned it on from behind the screen to test it, since remote did not work). 「We liked the fact that the room and property was clean and maintained. What was lacking was the staff didn't execute some basic things. During our multi day stay, I had to ask the staff to refill the coffee pots in the breakfast area. Letting both coffee pots get drained at 7 am? Wars have started over less. 「The Vintage Block is awesome. It's clearly an older 60s/70s style motel, but the owners have stuck a ton of money and love into it. It's immaculately clean, and the decor is fresh and inviting. It's location is top notch to all the fun stuff around okoboji, and the management clearly cares about its customers.」
