「期待外れでした。お洒落な部屋ではあったのですが、機能的でない。まず棚や引き出し等のモノを置く場所がほとんどなく、スーツケースから直接出し入れするしかない状況。シャワーとトイレの仕切りは透明板で、入口部分にカーテンもないので洗面所が濡れる。夜トイレに行った際に透明な仕切り板に頭をぶつけてたんこぶができてしまいました。朝食は別途19ドルで結局利用せず。無料のはずの水も結局なし。タクシーはないので、バス停からは歩くしかない。食事にいくにはどちらの方向に行くにしても徒歩15分くらいかかる。レンタカーの人には良いかもしれないが車のない人には不便。帰りのシャトルを予約してもらったはずなのにうまく連絡が行っていなくて待たされ、バス出発時刻にぎりぎりになった。それでこの値段はもったいなかった。」

「We arrived at this hotel after a 2.5 hour drive from Christchurch by rental car. The very cheerful staff welcomed us, which helped to ease the fatigue of the long drive on unfamiliar roads. The grounds were well-cleaned and very quiet. The sounds of birds singing and the waves crashing on the shore beyond the mountains were pleasant to hear. 「Te Mahuru Tetreat is a jewel in Kaikoura’s crown. A perfect location, easy to get to and not far out of Kaikōura itself. The accommodation provides a high standard of facilities and is immaculate. It provided everything we need for our stay and the use of the hot tub and do some star gazing is phenomenal - a must if you are staying at Te Mahuru Retreat.
