This property was amazing.The host is just the nicest person, very communicative and available day or night. My room was immaculate, and the views at this property were absolutely incredible.You can walk the bluff and overlook the ocean views. It's pet friendly and my little dog had a wonderful time staying here as well. There's a fire pit and outdoor seating. There are benches all along the bluff and places to sit and meditate or be still and reflect. I just enjoyed the overall time that i was here. I also got to see whales right off the shore. Highly reccomend the surf inn.

I loved the view from outside and the many chairs overlooking the ocean were wonderful. We would have used your firepit but it was too windy when we were there.

We arrived in Gualala several hours before we expected. We were tired and thought we'd ask, just on the chance, if there would be any possibility of an early check in. The woman who was in the office was extremely accommodating and moved us into another room, which made the early check in possible. Thanks!

Jade was gracious and helpful upon our arrival and during check-in. She was well prepared with info that answered any questions about the amenities and surrounding areas. She provided written instructions on how to operate the room's heating system, TV, Wi-Fi, etc. We were very pleased and impressed with her presentation.

This place is a gem. We choose to stay in this town to break up the long drive from the redwoods to San Francisco. We spent some time at the Glass Beach and were going to be running late for check in so I called and the lady working the desk (I forgot her name but she's absolutely delightful) told me what to do, our room number, where to park, etc. She had all of the information (TV channels, how to with the air conditioner, restaurants with their availability and location) very detailed and easy to understand. The room we got actually had a kitchenette and a pull out bed in addition to our two double beds, which was unexpected but appreciated! Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is continental style, but does have cheese and hard boiled eggs in addition to a large assortment of granola bars, pastries, yogurt, juice, milk, and a coffee machine (so you can make yourself a late or mocha)! It was good. We also had a great view. We met a couple local seagulls that hang out there too (Gus Gus and Thumper). It really was a great experience!

Second time visiting. Great location. Rooms are small but designed so they feel bigger with ample space for a single, like me. I really liked the “grab and go” breakfast. Jade, the manager, is terrific!

The Surf Inn is a great place to stay. We enjoyed the quiet and quaint room that we stayed in. The office manager, Jade, was warm and friendly. She went the extra mile to suggest places for us to visit on our way up to Fort Bragg. Also, the state-of-the-art coffee machine in the lobby brews delicious flavored coffee! I will definitely stay here again in the future.

What a great place! We loved the stay here, the nice walk to the beach overlook was a great way to relax both at dusk and dawn. Staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Of all our hotels on this trip (we stayed at 5 different ones), this place truly offered a "breakfast". Unbelievable selection that should have something for anyone. I didn't appreciate it at the time but again, after all the different places that offered "breakfast included", the Surf Inn was the only one that should be allowed to say that. Thank you for a great stay and making us feel welcomed!

I've never stayed here before. We usually rent a home. But this time we were in town for only one night. So we thought we would try a motel. The manager, Jade, was the nicest person. She made it clear that she wanted us to have the best stay and made sure that we knew where everything was. The whole property was very clean. All rooms allow dogs, but you would never know it by the cleanliness. Walked next door or across the street for anything we needed. Very convenient and friendly.

The surf inn is a nice place with a very convenient location. They dog dogs which is great and the rooms are very clean with nicely colored laminate flooring. The only real complaint and why is not a five star is because the rooms are small. I mean it was myself, my wife and our teenage daughter. The beds are doubles and while I know I am use to a queen and I am not the skinniest human around, it really isn’t plausible for two full size adults to sleep comfortably in a double, let alone with two beagles in the room and a daughter. The staff was great and moved us to another room, 103, that was bigger and had a pull out couch, but the same size beds. So unless you’re in a king size bed only or a single person for each bed, it’s not going to work…. When I asked my wife if she would go back, she said yes but not with our daughter because the rooms aren’t big enough… but the staff, the property are great, especially the staff….
