First off, be sure to note that if you are going to arrive after about 8 PM, you should give the motel a call earlier in the day. This is because it’s family owned and the family does everything. I arrived after 10 and it was no problem, but we just needed to make arrangements so I would have a key.
This is an absolutely lovely small motel. It’s unpretentious, clean, and lovingly tended. I’ve stayed in about 10 different motels during a long road trip this summer and this has been my favorite. The bed is comfy. The setting felt very safe, which is a priority for me as a solo female traveler. My room is charming, and I mean that not as a euphemism for run-down. It is simply charming – for real. I kind of wish I would’ve had time to spend a day in the area and spend a second night here.
