Very clean and easy access. Has all necessities to prepare meals. Had nice weather and was able open windows and enjoy fresh air and not use AC. Plan to stay there again.
Wonderfully appointed cabin with beautiful trails just a few minutes drive away. Comfortable bed, chairs, easy to use kitchen, even has laundry. Highly recommend.
My husband and I loved our stay here. Clean, quiet, and just a short drive from the marina to launch our boat. Hosts were quick to respond to messages/ questions. We would definitely stay here again!
Cute cabin with all the necessities. Enjoyed the location and the artistic touches. The kitchen functioned well for cooking our meals. Temperature control was great. Loved the porch for cocktails after our adventures.
This was a lovely, wonderfully clean cabin with everything you could possibly need. The owners pride showed in ALL the extras. We enjoyed the hammock and all of the deer that we saw. It was a close drive to many sites/activities. We would definitely stay again.
Short get away for us. Cabin had everything we needed. Well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. Nice outside area for relaxing and bonfire. Owners quick to reply to anything we needed. Several great state parks within short driving distance with nice easy-rugged hikes.

Cabin weekend
Everything was fine. Unfortunately it rained & it was cold at night so we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit. However the fire pit is in the front yard of the cabin son-it’s not very secluded. Plus none of the walls in the cabin go up to the ceiling so there is a lack of privacy. The cabin was very clean.
Beautifully decorated little cabin close to Giant City and Blue Sky Vineyard. The hosts had a nice coffee and tea selection. We were a little disappointed that the patio outside the cabin was so small but there was a nicer large area on the other side of the cabin if you wanted to make a fire. One downside is the cabin is in front of a 3 way intersection and there was a lot of local traffic with very noisy trucks going by. If you wanted the windows open or to be outside the noise definitely took away from the ambiance. Overall we would recommend this location and the hosts were very responsive and friendly.
My husband and I recently were in Southern Illinois for a few days celebrating our daughter's birthday. She is enrolled at SIU, Carbondale. We had a wonderful time visiting the wineries in the area, hiking and biking. The cabin was absolutely perfect and we had everything we needed and more. We found the cabin conveniently located to the activities we wanted to engage in. We were impressed with how clean the cabin was and would absolutely stay there again!...in fact we just recommended to family who are headed there in a few weeks!!
This was our first time in Shawnee. There are definitely a lot of trails. We ran out of time before trails. Suggest going to closer trails first. The home was clean and had most of what we needed. They were in the middle of getting wifi set up so that was a small bump in the road but we spent most of our time outdoors. Marion nearby had nice restaurants. The vault had amazing breakfast.
We had a wonderful stay, Vonda was extremely kind. She went out if her way to make a bed for my boys when we were arriving late. The cabin is cozy and kitchen is well stocked. We would highly recommend staying here!
