"The venue was spacious and tidy, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. My first impressions were great and the room was faultless - big, comfy, great level of amenities. Pool was free to use as a overnight guest (family swim until 6pm). Good enough location with the nearest 2 towns about 18 minutes away (Braintree or Colchester). You have converted a repeat customer in me for sure"

"The hotel was set in a nice, quiet location with lovely views. The room was a good size, plenty of room and tea/coffee making facilities. The decor in the room was very tasteful and the bathroom was really spacious. Very clean accommodation. The room was cleaned daily. We didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Lovely seating area outside. Ample parking. Only downside was the bed and pillows which were far too soft for us but obviously that is just down to personal taste. All in all a very enjoyable 3 day break and will definitely be staying again ."

"Great location and large clean room. Very disappointing breakfast at the George though. Waited 20 minutes for a very unappealing looking plate of food and a bizarre set up. Sticky tables in breakfast room too. Staff were lovely though."

"Nice location close to Colchester town centre along with a decent gym, swimming pool and sauna all inclusive along with free parking. However the cleanliness good be improved as we found hair on our duvet and the room looked like it needed hoovering."
