"I'm writing this review based more on the host than the property at Deerpark. We had booked the Deerpark location, but the morning we were to check-in, we received a message indicating that we've been moved to a different rental location due to a 'plumbing issue at Deerpark'. "It was fine. Beds were nice, and the decor was pleasant. WiFi didn’t work, and there is construction going on in the attached house. The email communication was unmonitored. Not the same value as other similar places where we’ve stayed. "

Horse and Jockey Hotel

Horse and Jockey Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Overall, we had a great stay. The room was huge and the beds were very comfortable, although dated with furnishings. This wasn’t really an issue because it added to the overall charm of the place. The breakfast was amazing. Don’t even think of getting a package that doesn’t include breakfast. It was marvelous. We did have one rather uncomfortable experience with the attendants in the pool and gym area. We were just walking around, checking it out, fully dressed ( lol) …it was very obvious that we were hotel guests. My husband walked into the locker room so he could see what the pool was like closer up, and the attendant came running out and asked me out of breath if I saw the strange man that went into the pool area without checking in first… well no one was at the desk to check in so that was probably the first problem. I stared back at her and said , “Um that that’s my husband and we are hotel guest. He just wanted to see what the pool looked like up close. “ She screamed at me and told me that he didn’t have a swim cap and I said ‘ well he’s fully clothed so I’m pretty sure he’s not planning on jumping in the pool’ . She didn’t even apologize for her rude demeanor. That was the only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth …other than that the hotel is amazing."
