"We've stayed here several times and the staff are always friendly and the food very good. It's in a great location with easy access to buses going to the centre, plus there's ample parking. Rooms vary - this time we booked two nights in a Deluxe which had a lovely view and spacious bathroom. The decor isn't perhaps what you would expect in such a grand Scottish building but the glitzy wallpaper and large silver horsehead bedside lamps might go as the hotel is currently being refurbished. For an Edinburgh stay in low season, it's very good value."

"Really pleased with my stay. Upgraded me from single room to double. Staff couldnt have been more helpful. There was a problem with the water supply in room so they moved me to a better room. Comfortable bed, great size room, lovely and quiet, good sleep, breakfast was good. Free parking. Bus stop to get all over Edinburgh and back, right across the road. For what I paid it was excellent. Thank you!"

Am nächsten Tag funktionierte die Heizung etwas besser aber das Badezimmer war immer noch sehr kalt. Wir haben das Zimmer getauscht und es war perfekt warm. Sehr nettes Personal von Zimmerreinigung bis Restaurant und Bar. Essen und Drinks einwandfrei."
