"What a beautiful place, what a warm welcome, what an excellent hostess. This "Maison de Famille" in Vezac has views of both the Chateau Beynac and the Chateau de Milandes. But what's even more wonderful: views of the lovely countryside, and the amazing roses, trees, lawns around the house. The house itself has a welcoming kitchen (yes, we cooked), a very comfortable living and dining room, and extremely comfortable bedrooms. A peaceful place to relax, and to use as home base for exploring this favorite part of la belle France."

"We enjoyed every minute of this beautiful, well-appointed 3-level in La Roque-Gageac. The kitchen worked perfectly--after all, the host is a retired chef! We found everything we needed, washing machine, etc. This 3-level sits below the gorgeous cliffs, adjacent to the wide stone stairway that takes you up to the cliffside roadways with their breathtaking views of the Dordogne River. And from all three levels of this 3-level, you look straight out at the river. We were met by the host who took care of every need (parking pass, restaurant and cafe suggestions). He was delightful. While on the street side we could look out to the river, in back we found a sweet terrace with picnic table (and clothes line, also helpful), looking up through flowers and vines at the limestone cliffs above. We felt very lucky indeed to be in this beautiful place."

"Gut erhaltene Unterkunft im französisch rustikalen Stil. Aufgeschlossene Gastgeberinn, lebt auf dem Gelände, respektiert jedoch die Privatsphäre der Gäste. "A charming single story hotel in the countryside with views of at least 4 castles from the property. Our room had access to the patio(terasse) where we could sit outside and enjoy the weather. Easy drive to go out for dinner to multiple charming towns and villages. Very friendly and helpful staff, good continental breakfast. We liked it so much we decided to stay 2 extra nights. Good place to base yourself and explore the region."

A few small quibbles, none dispositive: the master bedroom bed won't agree with side sleepers and needs replacing, The poolhouse bed was represented by the delightful husband wife cleaning team as nonfunctional.The poolside stationary bike is conceptually sound but the device's maintenance has been sadly neglected and would be cyclists straddling the weather beaten wobbly seat precariously situated above an unstable and poorly designed plinth can anticipate perineal trauma.Now, if any of this discourages a stay here, I have served you poorly.Since most reviewers are not as persnickety as I am any unhappiness in an otherwise glowing review can be seen as a rule out. Glowing reviews have self-censured and so the eye is gouged and fantasy skewered by reports of imperfection. "Everything was just right, with an easy checking in process, help on hand if we needed it. The kitchen was very well equipped and the laundry facilities were particularly useful. The pool was enjoyed by everyone. This was a memorable time in a special place with our children and grandchildren. Our thanks to our hosts for providing such a wonderful venue."

"We were met by the lovely and efficient Maryelene who answered our questions and made us feel comfortable.Characterful house containing everything you need for a good holiday. The swimming pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all the family it was just a pity that there were no shops within walking distance.We were impressed by the immediate response to the air conditioning having stopped working - a man appeared within the hour on a Sunday to fix it - thank you.Great holiday, highly recommended "
