"Sheets were dirty upon arrival for the sofa bed and the sheets on the main bed were filthy (including crumbs and hair) and stained. Very obviously not washed. My kids slept with the two (family of 4) bath towels that were in the unit. The host asked that the comforter be put in the washing machine - but the sheets for the sofa bed were in there already and dirty, probably because there was no detergent provided. I reached out to the host about our issues/concerns and have yet to hear a response."

Home2 Suites by Hilton Kalamazoo Downtown

8/10 Good

"Very nice breakfast, something for everyone. Staff worked hard to keep the food plentiful."

Best Western Plus Kalamazoo Suites

8/10 Good

"This is the best hotel near Western Michigan University. It is quiet, clean and without that undesirable crowd that frequents several hotels near West Michigan Ave and Drake Road. This is quickly becoming my go-to hotel when I come to Kalamazoo. The price is very reasonable, a fair value when compared to many other hotels that charge the same price. Before I found this place I was paying more for a worn out bed in facilities that smell like someone's dog has a serious nicotine habit... My only reason for not rating this hotel higher relates to the cleaning; nobody wipes the dust off baseboards and trim. I am also certain that the cleaning people haven't sat on the toilet with the bathroom door closed. I guess it's just an American hotel thing. The back of bathroom doors and the adjacent walls never get enough regular attention. The breakfast is OK, but certainly could use more fresh fruit and healthy eating options. That being known, there are some good options within walking distance."

Quality Inn & Suites Next to the Casino

10/10 Excellent

"Wonderfully spacious clean room with some nice updates... we really like the friendly staff who work here, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk and the lady in the breakfast room...the breakfast here is always great with lots of choices and good coffee...we love that its so close to the casino and more affordable :)"
