Service is poor. I have traveled over the world and have experienced really good service in different countries. Even that the RIU facilities are very good the hotel policies and service are just not done to make your stay easy. They have internal communication issues and you can hear personnel talking about it among employees in the lobby very often. The cannot serve water bottles during the day as you have to come downstairs for them. I left a boucher open when I checked in and first night when I ordered room service I had to pay the guy there in my room as they had no idea I left my account open. Very long process to connect to WiFi. Food at the buffet is awful and definitely not worth the cost. I invited a customer to have breakfast and they couldn’t let him go to the restaurant and I had to come downstairs to pay and then they will let them go upstairs to the 4th floor where the restaurant is, then three different waiters asked us if we had paid for his breakfast. I felt embarrassed with my customer as it is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. In general as it was a business trip for me they didn’t make my stay comfortable and smooth. Too bad as the hotel facilities are good. I will never stay there and strongly recommend to choose other options in Plaza de España if you like the location. Terrible experience.
