Overall, we had a nice stay, and the home has a lot of potential. The location was excellent, parking was easy, and the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and bedrooms have been nicely updated.
That said, there were a few issues that we feel future guests should be aware of. The listing mentions that the home was recently renovated, so we expected a few more things to be finished. The pool was very cloudy during our stay, to the point that we couldn’t see the bottom. The dock also needs some attention. We brought our boat, and it was difficult to secure because there were no cleats, and several of the pilings were deteriorating and covered in oysters.
The biggest issue was that the air conditioning in the primary bedroom wasn’t working properly. There was a standing fan provided, which helped some, but the room was still uncomfortably warm for sleeping. On our first night, around 4–5 a.m., a broken sprinkler head in the front yard turned on and sprayed the front porch, waking everyone in the house. I reached out to the host while it was happening but didn’t receive a response until the following afternoon.
Overall, we didn’t have a bad stay, and we appreciate the updates that have already been made to the home. However, we do think a few maintenance items should be addressed before future guests arrive, as they would make for a much more enjoyable experience.
