Luxury Villa in the Florentine hills

Luxury Villa Poggio Secco is located in a fairy-tale setting among the gentle hillsides just south of Florence.
The property is set on a large plot of beauty and peace, making this villa the perfect location for several couples or an extended family seeking a holiday in close proximity to Florence. The location could not be better, set on an idyllic hillside just 15 minutes (8 km) from Florence. This elegant country house is within an hour's drive of all of the beautiful hill towns and vineyards in the Chianti area.The villa offers easy access to both the center of Florence and the Chianti region, so you can alternate trips to the Uffizi and the Duomo with excursions to the countryside of Tuscany.
The closest village, Grassina is at 3km away from the property. This town has several bars, grocery shops, bakery, butcher, and a hairdresser.
Riding and a golf facilities are available at 4 km. from the house.
A short unpaved road (200 m) leads to the farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
The house has been fully restored last year and the attention to detail and beauty is remarkable.
We have a large private garden with a large patio overlooking the Tuscan country side. You can enjoy sipping a glass of Chianti while barbecuing some Tuscan stake. The house is furnished with original 18th century furniture.

Villa Poggio Secco boost some beautiful tiled floors and beamed ceilings, and is divided into two floors.
The 3 double bedrooms all with a double beds are located on the ground floor.
Plus an extra mezzanine with a private bathroom and luxury sofabed is located upstairs.

Beautiful and relaxing

The pictures in the listing don't really do justice to how beautiful this home and the surrounding countryside truly are. The owners were very responsive and helpful with everything from settling in, to information about the nearby town of Grassina, to educating us on the public transit available.

We enjoyed our stay in this house. Delfina was very nice and helpful. The house is in a lovely quiet location with a great view, everything was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. We are glad we booked a car so we enjoyed the local food and wineries around. The streets are very narrow, but we eventually got used to driving. It was one of the best holidays for our family!

The ideal location for peace , relax , feel like you are living as a local. Location was perfect for one day are two day Train trips to Venice, Pizza , Rome. And more. Host was extremely helpful 24-7 to whatever our needs were.

Great stay

We had a great time at David`s property, the property is luxurious and spacious., making it a perfect base to explore tuscany for our group of six. The communication with David has been smooth and he went out of his way to ensure our stay is as enjoyable as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who wants to look for a luxury retreat in the heart of beautiful tuscany.

Beautiful view

Our stay was very pleasant. Everything we needed was at the house. The view is beautiful. We cooked ourselves and that was easy. Nice stove and ovens and a good barbecue outside. I recommend to rent this house.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful villa. The location just south of Florence was ideal and the views breathtaking. There were 9 of us and we all were very impressed. You can park your car for free close by and take the bus into Florence. We even used the grill one night and had our own bistecca! Will recommend to friends and will stay here again when some day hopefully we are back in Tuscany!

Brilliant stay

This property was very comfortable and roomy enough for the 3 couples that stayed there. As we all like to cook, it was great to have such a well-equipped kitchen. The backyard was great and the views were awesome. The weather did not cooperate so we could not take full advantage of the yard. The location was fantastic, close to grocery stores and restaurants and only minutes from central Firenze and all that it had to offer, yet far enough to enjoy the quiet of the country setting. The property manager was on site and extremely helpful on a couple of occasions in providing helpful information. We would certainly recommend this property.

Lovely home from home

What’s not to like! Lovely spacious villa in the hills south of Florence in a very attractive location, with everything you need. The host, David, responded promptly and was most courteous and kind. The host’s sister lives next door and is a great support in sorting any problems and helping you find what you want, with advice on shopping, where to park for visits to Florence and local walks amongst other things. The patio and garden at the back was a great spot for eating breakfast and lounging in the sunshine. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cottage

We truly enjoyed our vacation in this quient, beautiful Cottage in the hills. The grounds and view from the terrace was remarkable! The house was clean, modern and decorated lovely. The beds were comfortable and there's lots of room to spread out in the alcove and living areas. This kitchen was spacious and well equipped/stocked. We also loved being only 20 minutes outside the City in this private and quiet neighborhood. David, Elias and especially Delfina were wonderful accommodating hosts. We are so grateful for the constant communication, referrals to sites and restaurants, assistance with the house and directions. We highly recommend this gorgeous home and look forward to coming back next time we are in Florence.

Perfect accommodation in Tuscany

David’s villa is the perfect place to stay when exploring Florence and Tuscany. Florence is about 15 minutes away. Pisa and Sienna were about an hour drive. Chianti region is about fifteen minutes to the south. After spending the day walking and driving, the villa was a welcome retreat. There was plenty of space for our group of 5 adults. The kitchen is spacious, and well equipped. The patio and backyard are nice with an awesome view. That was where we usually have our breakfast. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. Thank you David and Delfina!

Best VRBO stay in Europe ever

Staying at this property in the hills outside Florence was an absolute delight. It was perfect in all respects. Spacious home with plenty of space and privacy for our 2 older couples. Beautifully landscaped and backyard patio and rolling hills and fields in distance. While owner livers away, his sister is next door. David (owner) sent has multiple clear video's of how to use various appliances and gave us precise directions on how to reach property well in advance. Property is basically a spacious and modern 3 br 2 bath home in the rolling hills outside Florence. HIs sister Delphina was a godsend and lives next door. She helped us with everything and was always available for tips and directions., She took the time to send us detailed maps and instructions and was always available via text or phone. Like having your daughter living next door!. Perfect location for a base to visit the countryside, city, and all of Tuscany. We wished we could have stayed for more but the property was booked after us. We will most definitely be back and give this property our full and complete endorsement. Thank you David and Dephina for a most pleasant and stress free vacation.

Amazing stay!

David provided very helpful and accurate information to transportation, groceries and more. This house was even better than I was expecting. It was so roomy. It was clean and extremely comfortable. The views were unreal from every single room. We had no trouble finding the place and it was so close to the bus stop where there was free parking so we could go into the city for the day. It was close to a grocery store which we utilized. We seriously loved this house so much. We def plan to come back again!!

Our family of 4, incl 2 teens really enjoyed the quick commute to the countryside after a busy day in Florence. House had 2 bathrooms, large bedrooms and enough space to spread out. Tuscan Heaven

This house was exactly what we wished for on our first visit to Italy for our 20th year anniversary! The views from the house and the back yard are extraordinary! The heated floors were a very comfortable feature. We didnt use the kitchen for very much cooking but it great for morning coffees and evening drinks and snacks. The host was very helpful in providing transportation information and always responded to our questions. The road to the house is definitely narrow and you have to be cautious and fully attentive. We had a car the whole time. When we went into Florence or to catch a train we would leave our car in a free parking lot about 3 minutes away and ride the bus into the city. Very convenient! Thank you very much David for being a great host and sharing your beautiful home with us.

Wonderful Tuscan stay

Fantastic location near Florence. In driving distance to Florence yet it feels secluded and private. The view from the bedrooms and backyard is stunning. The house was in immaculate condition with all amenities for a wonderful stay. The host David was extremely responsive and professional. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a house with character in the countryside yet accessible to the main city centres.

Beautiful villa for Christmas

Fantastic villa for a family. We stayed for 4 x nights over Christmas. Nice Kitchen with a dining table near.Lounge a little small but cozy. There is a seperate small lounge near the bedrooms, tv didn’t work, but probably good as it was near the bedrooms.Has an upstairs mezzanine bedroom with small ensuite, a little load if people are still awake downstairs, but great.Beautiful garden and table area outside, it was Christmas so very cold, but enjoyable.Has a bbq pizza oven, but did not use, too cold.Villa is very nice, but away from any restaurant or shops. You need to be self sufficient, so buy your groceries at the nearby town, as it is a narrow road all the way up... spectacular views.This place is nice if you want a quiet villa in the hills.Enjoyed our family Christmas in Florence at this villa.

What an incredible place

We loved our stay. From the start David sent all kinds of information. We had a few more questions about the bus and the area, David sent answers with in minutes with GPS maps. We loved the view, the Persimmon and Pomegranate from the trees in the yard were delicious. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were awesome, everything was clean. We stayed at 3 other locations this trip and this was our favorite. My wife said the blow dryer was the best blow dryer in Italy.

Beautiful vacation!

My husband and I stayed a month here. While access is kind of a challenge (need a car and the roads are narrow) the location is beautiful and very quiet. We decided it was a nice change from the crowds and noise of Florence and other tourist spots at the end of the day. The villa itself is exactly as portrayed in the pictures. Big, clean, well equipped for any stay. We found the best way to get into Florence was to drive into Grassina, park and take the local buses. Great access and saved a lot of money on parking. Enjoyed restaurants and other services in Grassina.
