  • Sandy Paws is a large dog friendly cottage near the centre of the bay Filey holiday village.

    Enter into a spacious hallway, with space for your coats and shoes. Ahead to the right is a stunning family space with large open plan living area, beautiful dining area and furniture with access to the large kitchen,

    There is an excellent dining space in the kitchen, with extended dining table seating 6 with French doors to the patio, and 2 large comfortable sofas - ideal for relaxing in front of. The patio has lovely furniture, Across the hall there is a WC.

    Free unlimited fast wifi throughout.

    Upstairs, you will find a master double bedroom with a shower room ensuite. There are two other bedrooms - one as a double and the other as a twin There is also a large family bathroom with shower over a P shaped bath.

This is our second time staying at Sandy Paws and once again, we had a brilliant weekend celebrating my 50th birthday. The accommodation is clean and modern with spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen and the location of the property is ideal. Dog friendly and our little dog enjoyed the walks along the beach. We visited the gym, made use of the leisure facilities and went to the pub. Highly recommend. Great communication too from the owners

Very enjoyable stay

Very well equipped property . We had difficulty using the oven the first time but once we had read the manual it was more straightforward. The fridge was a good size for the food we had brought along with us. The lounge was very spacious and comfortable seating. Large tv for catching up with the England ladies matches. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery in the kitchen as well as an air fryer and Tassimo coffee machine. Bedrooms good size .Beds really comfortable with quality bedding. En-suite in front bedroom useful so no queues for the bathroom. Downstairs loo saved going upstairs if you were sitting out on the patio outside. On arrival it was very clean and welcoming. We have stayed at the Bay five times now and took advantage of the swimming pool virtually every day. We did eat at The John Paul Jones pub a few times ,found the meals reasonably priced and very tasty. The drinks prices were more than we expected. The beach is lovely and flat, enjoyed by humans and dogs alike. The beach cafe has the best custard tart I’ve ever tasted and the portion size huge and excellent value. Top marks for Sandy Paws and The Bay this time we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good overall.

We enjoyed our stay overall in a well located cottage. There had been an issue with the fridge which we were advised about in advance (it was fixed just before we arrived) We were told that we could access the house slightly earlier than advised on booking which was a nice bonus. There are some observations though. We had a three year old in our party and upon arrival, there was a bottle of bleach within easy reach in the downstairs toilet which wasn’t securely closed. The kitchen table was very sticky and needed a good scrub before it could be used. There were two pairs of scissors in the cutlery drawer. Both were broken. There was a sieve/strainer which was rusty and not fit for purpose. We bought a new pair of scissors and a new strainer and left them in the drawer for you. The crockery and pans and some of the utensils could do with replacing. The welcome boxes seem stingy. One dishwasher tablet for a stay of four nights? One toilet roll per bathroom for a four night stay is again, somewhat stingy. There was a used poo bag outside the doors to the patio. This was definitely from previous tenants as we didn’t have a dog. Finally, your communications don’t agree with each other. The email says 11am checkout, the text says 10am. We felt that there were TOO MANY communications overall which felt somewhat dictatorial. With a few needed updates and more sympathetic communication, we’d have given this house 5’s. Thank you.
