Hidden charges and cash needed
We stayed in El Campello as part of a longer trip around Spain and were so disappointed that this property charged us extra for sheets and towels - it is in the small print but it really felt like a way of pushing up the price as who travels with sheets? We were told it was a Covid measure (now 2024?) but then had to go and find a bank as they only accepted cash for a large part of the booking cost and the extra for the towels and sheets. The woman that met us at the property was nice but the one on whatapp who contacted us before and during the stay was rude and not very nice to deal with. All our other properties we stayed at had all costs up front and paid online - this definitely dampened our arrival and stay in this property.
This ended up being by far the most expensive property we stayed in and we felt much less forgiving of the outdated interior, broken and falling down side tables and fridge that didn’t go down below 9 degrees on its lowest setting (which we specifically needed for medicine storage)
The location is great and 5 minutes from the beach (walking with kids). El Campello is a vibrant seaside place which we really enjoyed it was just a shame about the additional costs.
