Off the grid living when you didn’t ask for it
Do not let the description fool you.
It’s way worse than what the 3.4/10 rating implies.
The description on the site is about 40% accurate. This is not your typical apartment rental. When they say “owner may be on premises” they actually mean, “owner lives above the apartment”. Which wasn’t the biggest issue. There is NO TV, NO Laptop work area because there is no internet.
Also the cell service is spotty at best, and cut off about a half mile away from the property. So if something went wrong, there was no way to get ahold of anyone besides the owner who lived on the property.
Once we got inside there was no way to properly secure the front door besides what can only be accurately described as bathroom stall latch, that actually didn’t secure anything. There were three doors that were locked from the other side. They didn’t appear to be storage areas or cleaning areas, just doors locked from the other side.
There was nothing on the grounds, besides the dozens upon dozens of deer antlers, that could be viewed as a playground.
The items that I brought up above, were not mentioned until AFTER the non refundable charge was taken out of my credit card.
This is the first issue I’ve ever had with hotels.com or evolve booking. I hope that this can save some people some time, energy and money by making this known.
