A wonderful 2 bedroom/2 bath rental (1,000 sq. ft.) with private access to Hermosa Creek. A large master bedroom with King bed and a second guest room with Queen bed await you. Ensuite bath/shower combinations in both. A fully equipped kitchen, including barware, allows for quiet dinners at home. PJ's Gourmet Market and Animas Wine & Spirits are a short 5 min. drive, as is Dalton Golf Club. We are perfectly situated 10 miles from Durango and 15 miles from Purgatory Ski Resort. Air Conditioning throughout.

We live on the property, in a separate home, so are always there should you need anything at all.

  • We had a great ride on the Durango & Silverton Railroad. Lots of snow melt and some whitewater rapids that were off the scale. Several avalanches have occurred near train lines this Spring. We stopped for a couple hours in Silverton for quick bite to eat and shop. Silverton, CO reminded us of our recent inner passage cruise that stopped in Skagway, Alaska.

Loved the private creek for my girls to play in. So close to a lot of Durango hot spots including Purgatory, James Ranch, and Bar D Wagon. Very peaceful and comfortable. Loved having access to a washer and dryer.

Our stay here was fantastic! The property was peaceful and relaxing. The house was perfect for us- spacious, clean, with a great kitchen and living room area. We loved using the grill and reading down by the creek. We will definitely book here when we come back to Durango!

Perfect location in Durango and immaculately clean!

Very happy that we selected this location as our home base for our long weekend trip to Durango. I can’t imagine a better location - close to a grocery store, close to James Ranch, close to a gas station, and right on the edge of all the best hiking locations. Plus the property is right next to a cute creek. You can hear the water from the patio (which features a very nice grill). The entire place was perfectly equipped and immaculately clean. Would definitely stay again!

Well-equipped home

While this home was different than I thought it would be in that it was located close to a major road and there were other renters in close proximity, there are very few things not to like about it. The home was very clean, with a well equipped kitchen and awesome, clean grill. AC worked good. Owners have their act together with a digital notebook including local recommendations, good communication, and a lovely gift upon arrival (thank you!). We had hoped to fish in the creek on the property but the water level was too low; it was still a nice place to end the day and listen to the water. We had a very big issue with the WiFi not working and thus could not really watch TV at night or edit our photos (owner explained this was a result of the IT outage). Location was very good to golf and spa, both of which we did, and not too far from Durango proper. Overall, we would recommend.

Beautiful Hermosa Getaway

One of the best VRBOs we have ever stayed at. The location was perfect. We enjoyed time by the creek, playing frisbee golf, and eating on the porch. The Hermosa creek trailhead was just minutes away and we were able to take a beautiful hike close by. Our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend and will be back in the future.

Wedding getaway

Had a wonderful stay with my husband and my mom while attending my cousin's wedding. This little place was close enough to town that we could grab groceries or find a nice restaurant. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the steam a diesel trains pass by and the creek was a great place to sit and unwind. We stayed an extra day to enjoy the area. Very comfy and clean, hope we can visit again soon!

Wonderful Stay

We had a fantastic stay at this property. It was clean and decorated so cute. Had everything we needed and was in a great location. Beautiful little creek with chairs to sit and enjoy. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Durango.

Great Memories

We were very comfortable & appreciated how clean the house was. My only recommendation is that you provide a larger skillet & pot for boiling pasta. We had to use 2 pans simultaneously while cooking several times. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We also loved the creek behind the house.

Fabulous Place!

Beautiful and modern property! Extremely clean and well kept. We especially loved the location and the creek! Such beautiful views, we were in heaven! Everything inside the home was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and we had all that we needed to grill and prepare meals. Deck was splendid too!!

Gorgeous Little Spot

This was a gorgeous little spot for a getaway. Close to everything or if you don't want to leave, everything you could possibly need is on had. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Great location, beautiful property

This was exactly as advertised and what other reviewers had posted. It is such a comfortable and clean home. Has everything you could possibly need. Unfortunately it rained a good bit and we didn’t have the chance to enjoy the outdoors here but on the last day we did walk around and could see how nice it would be by the creek. It was close enough to our family, too. Thanks to the Rainey’s for maintaining and offering such a lovely home to stay in!

Fantastic property!

This is a beautiful new property with a gorgeous kitchen and two large comfortable bedrooms. We enjoyed the chairs located on the creek and saw a young doe grazing in the grasses. It's about 10 minutes from Durango and close enough to the train to hear it whistle as it goes by. Would definitely stay here again.
