Perfect hotel in Old Town Dubrovnik for our 3-day stay. The hotel is perfectly located minutes to everything, rooms were clean & updated & the service was wonderful. Agon was very helpful and kind along with everyone else.
Fantastic stay at boutique Hotel Stari Grad. Room was ready when I checked in at 12pm (not expected but a lovely surprise after arriving in Croatia from the US on an overnight flight). Beautiful room overlooking red roofs of old town. Soft robe, very comfortable bed, and the best shower of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were wonderful and took care of the luggage (no elevator as old town is unesco protected- so there are stairs to the rooms). Beautiful rooftop restaurant with delicious food. Steps from the Stradum/ could not be more conveniently located. Overall a fantastic stay and hope to be back in the future!
Beautiful hotel within the city walls. Stunning rooms. Amazing service from reception staff who went beyond any expectations when helping with any recommendations etc.
This place was an incredible place to stay! The staff were next level. Super helpful, kind, and knew all the best places! Dinner at Above 5 was spectacular and the perfect way to kick off our trip. Don’t forget to book a massage!
The staff was wonderful. The building is historic yet updated and very clean. Only complaint was that the air conditioning was not as strong as we like.
Small hotel with great location, quiet and away from the crowd. There is no elevator. The restaurant is on the roof (6th floor). Very friendly and attentive staff!
The hotel is in the heart of the Old Town and therefore is expensive but we were made to feel welcome from the start. The room was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and the view is excellent. The food however is totally overpriced. The €30 on top of the standard price for a lobster pasta was unacceptable. My lamb was overcooked and it's from New Zealand anyway so hardly fresh. It is Michelin star priced but not Michelin star qualty.
The staff was genuinely interested in making us feel welcome and comfortable. The driver of our private transport failed to put one of our bags in the vehicle at the airport. We informed the staff during check in and they jumped right on it. They were immediately on the phone calling the airport. The bag arrived in our room in about an hour. This is truly a 5 star property.
This wonderful, small hotel is perfectly located. It is situated up a narrow street just steps from the Pile gate, Franciscan Monastery and Onofrijeva Fountain. The rooms have been completely modernized providing a luxury stay in a welcoming, historic setting. From here, you can easily walk to anywhere in the old town. The Stari Grad staff took great care to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Don't miss the opportunity to have breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The food is great, the service impeccable, and you can admire the wonderful views. You might also want to return for dinner at the Above 5 in the same location. The kitchen is run by a superstar young chef, who has introduced international influences to the menu. The food looks beautiful and tastes fantastic, and you can enjoy the sunset while you eat !
Being in the old town, you will experience some crowd noise in the evening when everyone is out at dinner, and possibly some noise from the morning deliveries. However, even as light sleepers we were able to get plenty of rest with the aid of a small noise machine that we take where ever we go, so don't let this put you off. Stay at the Stari Grad, get out early to beat the crowds, and enjoy all that beautiful Dubrovnik has to offer.
We think this hotel is extremely overpriced, despite its location in Old Town Dubrovnik. We paid about $600 for one night in this hotel. The facilities were very nice and the staff very helpful and accommodating, but I would not have gotten a room in this hotel had I known that I had to go up three double flights of steep stairs to get to our room. In the information I read on Expedia, it did not say that the hotel had no elevator because it was UNESCO-protected. Thankfully the nice staff changed our room to a first-floor room, and in the process upgraded our room because there was none other available. For a young person who can pay the price, this hotel might work. For elderly travelers who want to be able to walk easily everywhere, it does not work as well. That is the reason for my rating. I believe the fact that there is no elevator and that there are so many stairs to climb and even a steep short hill to climb to get to the hotel door, all of that should be mentioned in Expedia. We appreciate the kindness of the staff who moved us to the first floor.
The hotel is well located, close to the entry gate. It is very clean and the room was surprisingly quiet. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Staying here was a great experience.
Thank you to all of the staff who made my stay enjoyable - bar staff, reception, breakfast servers and cleaners. Clean, safe and conveniently located hotel with a great breakfast menu
Beautiful property. Nicely decorated and very clean. Staff is very friendly. There is a beautiful terrace/restaurant on the roof top where breakfast is served with panoramic views of the old city! Just beautiful.
This is an exceptional hotel and worth its steep price tag. You will not find a better location in the Old Town. Wonderful staff; wonderful service. Bar cocktails are ridiculously good from the house mixologist.
Optimal location. Excellent restaurant on rooftop (only rooftop restaurant in Dubrovnik, I think) Great staff. No lift but unavoidable in such a historic building. Staff will take your luggage up/down if you ask. Room with modern conveniences.
The only strange fact was they charged us €3.60 per person for the city tax, instead of €2.65

Cold water for a shower. Would expect more from a four star hotel. Talked to the staff, but still had to take cold showers. Expensive by Croatia standards. Stayed in much better four star hotels in Split, Zadar and Obitaja.
