So many issues with this place. Mold inside the house, Water leaks, smoke fire alarms not working, old outdoor furniture, smelly inside. Very very disappointed. This is a VACASA managed property and they have been EXTREMELY unresponsive. We have given them multiple days to respond. No one has reached out. If you have kids please be careful. Downstairs has visible mold. here is the list of "issues" We are 60 year old adults (4 long term friends and couples) We are tolerant and love visiting locations. We have NEVER written a letter of complaint. However, for this case we decided to document our concern.
Some items of concern and issue:
1. Upon entering the house was “musty smelling” which we thought may be from sitting closed
2. We later learned of mold issues (walls in the downstairs bedrooms, upstairs bathroom, and garage has visible mold on ceilings. We would not allow anyone to sleep downstairs.
3. Woke up to rain coming in the bedroom door frame - steady stream, cleaned up floor and sent video to the company. I checked downstairs and it is evident that the water is running into the walls and creating mold issue. (wallboard bubble, paint peeling, etc)
4. Outside of house is covered with mold and mildew.
5. Firepit area, chairs and patio are completely covered in mold and unusable
6. Window in the main area and back of home are covered with mold and mildew
7. Outside shower is unusable
8. Almost all patio furniture is unkept, peeling paint, corrosion etc.
9. Fire detector in hallway at entrance is hanging down with evidence of water leaking around it
10. Fire detector in upstairs bedroom has cover missing and looks like it is in non-working condition
11. The following was in the note sent to us just prior to the trip “Families only! If the HOA finds you are not a family you will also be fined and asked to leave the property with no refunds .” This should be in the listing! We made the reservation between 4 couples. This could have been an issue. I do not believe the HOA Holiday Isles would be happy with not putting this in the listing. It could cause issues with friends like us renting the location.
12. We took the keycard to the beach entrance. Tried scanning…no luck. Called the help line and they told us they would put in a ticket (which does not help) no commitment on when we would get access.
In summary, disgusted. If you are considering this property, move on to others. and it was not cheap.
