We recently spent 5 nights here, and while the location was perfect, the overall experience did not meet expectations for the price point. On the second day we found a cockroach in the silverware drawer. Management did send someone to spray, but we saw another roach the day before leaving. This bothered us to the point that when we returned home, we unpacked outside out of concern about bringing pests back with us.Parking was also a significant headache. Even though our unit was supposed to have three designated parking spots, our neighbors’ five cars routinely blocked us in. While management contacted them once, nothing changed for the rest of our stay. Luckily we only had one vehicle. Several times we had to back hundreds of feet into the street just to get out.The property itself showed clear signs of neglect. One bathroom door was hanging off its frame, the outdoor grill was barely functional (only 1½ burners worked), and the exterior doors were heavily corroded and difficult to operate. We contacted the rental company, RealJoy Vacations, as instructed to give them a chance to address issues before leaving a review. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive — including calling the roaches “pesky palmetto bugs” — and they didn’t offer any meaningful remedy for the problems we experienced. For a property at this price, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
