Pros: easy checkin, very clean, good amenities and very close to town. Cons: It’s in someone’s backyard. The door is on the side of their backyard, so if you want to sit on the balcony there’s no privacy or views. When the kids jump on the trampoline, or the family is outside, you hear it. It felt like we should know them to be comfortable staying there.

The location was fine, but there were several issues with the place. The AC did not work and we got by the first night by opening the windows, but the second night we got back from the Sheryl Crow concert, the place was cooking as it was hot during the second day. It was so hot in the unit, even with the windows open, we got up at 530am to leave as we were sweating like crazy. The accommodations were adequate but the water/ice maker were not hooked up in the unit. Mountain views were a little exaggerated give the mountain views were over the roof of the main house. I complained to the rental company and asked for one of the nights back given the inconvenience and how much we spent. They apologized and would get back to us. I am going to wait to see what they do and sue if they do not respond. The rental unit is behind the main house off the main road, not ideal but not super bad location. You have to go to around the back and park on a back parking pad. If everything was perfect, I would rate this place 3-4. Not worth the money we paid.

Terrific communication from booking all the way through the stay. Host was very responsive. Location is fantastic, easy walk to downtown Golden, School of Mines, Safeway, and walking/hiking trails. Unit is very tastefully modern, with a clean and very serene feel. Very functional layout and good space. We were very comfortable for graduation weekend and didn't have to deal with parking during a crowded weekend.

Great Golden location!

In town for Mines parents weekend… perfect location. Great amenities. Very clean. (Do wish there was a Keurig, but the Mr Coffee worked just fine!) bathroom/shower is great.

Nice Stay

Unit is very comfortable for two, nicely designed with modern and convenient touches. Very convenient to downtown Golden, Red Rocks, Lookout Mountain and a short 1/2 hour to Boulder.

Outstanding day!

While the property doesn’t boast a lot of room, it makes up for it and cleanliness and location the downtown Golden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and will definitely book again. Ideal for Up to four people for sure! Surrounding neighborhood was great as well!

Cute and Clean in Golden

Cute, clean property in Golden, CO. Close to family and activities that we had for our weekend. Clean, well equipped property with everything that we needed. Our Golden Visit

We were very pleased with the location, parking and checking in. The property was quiet and well maintained. The air conditioning and overhead fans worked great. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was great to have a washer and dryer. The tv and internet worked great. We would have liked better accommodations for our clothing but they utilized the small space well. An additional wall mirror would have been nice too. Overall we highly recommend 👍

Very Nice Golden Stay

We enjoyed our two-week stay in Golden. The carriage house is as advertised and within walking distance to downtown Golden, The downside to its location is that it’s on an alley, complete with several abandoned vehicles and other large items that should be removed. The property, though, is fresh and clean and comfortable, and both the manager and the owner were quick to respond to my messages.

Perfect little vacation house!

Loved it. It was super clean, fantastic location, and felt super safe. We even walked to a restaurant nearby. It is small but so well designed that you don’t even know it! We definitely made ourselves at home and would come back.

Clean, simple, modern apartment in a great location, near downtown and Mines. Perfect for two or three guests. I love the heated floors in the bathroom!

Unable to check in with unreachable property manager

The property manager didn’t send check in info 3 days prior, nor 3 hours prior.. they sent it to us the day after our arrival. I’ve never experienced communication this bad. My email address and phone number were accessible by the property manager, as I received a reservation confirmation AND text message from them, however, they continue to blame VRBO for the error. When traveling from across the country, one wants to be sure they can trust they have a place to stay when they’ve reserved it in advance. This is not possible with Sherry the property manager as they will blame VRBO for communication issues and Sherry does not try to reach you using any other form of communication that they have on file. Be prepared to stay somewhere else or knock on the doors around to find the homeowners. We were finally let in by the homeowner well after arrival at the check in time (the homeowners do not manage the property and said this has happened before where renters didn’t get the information from the property manager before check in time). Natalie and Eric are the homeowners and they’re very nice folks with great recommendations of what Golden has to offer. Plus they’re seasoned red rocks amphitheater goers so we got really great advice from Natalie about when to arrive and food to eat. You two need a new property manager! The home is beautiful and so is the neighborhood. Definitely stay in Golden, just *find a different place to stay* as the property manager will not try to get ahold of you about your stay and how to check in. You will be left on your own to figure this out. Messaging them on VRBO won’t work and there isn’t a phone number listed to call in emergencies - the only way to get that is by receiving the check in guidebook. And you won’t receive that (due to VRBO issues, plus email and phone calls don’t work for this property manager). Best of luck to anyone who books this place - it really is a beautiful home and location. I hope you figure out how to check in without the property managers help, otherwise you’ll only be left with a slew of excuses as to why you couldn’t check in to your rental unit; and no attempt to contact you outside of the VRBO app when they know they’re having issues on their end. Learn from us - the property manager said this happened to many renters of theirs, so rather than risk it - find a place with a different property manager who will make sure your safe and that you can check in to your VRBO rental!
