  • Eierland Lighthouse on the northern tip of the Texel Island ( Netherland). To get there, take the ferry in Den Helder ( 25€/car). The ferry leaves every hours and the journey takes only 20 minutes. Texel acquired a lighthouse in 1864, following many years of campaigning by Texel civil-law notary Kikkert. The seas around the island were so dangerous that many ships sank before the lighthouse was finally built, as explained in a tiny exhibition in the lighthouse itself. During the Second World War, the lighthouse was the site of a major part of the action of the Georgian Rebellion, or Russian War; in fact, the bullet holes are still visible in the walls of the tower.

Wir haben das Haus mit 4 Personen und einem Hund bewohnt. Das Häuschen ist schö ...

Wir haben das Haus mit 4 Personen und einem Hund bewohnt. Das Häuschen ist schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. In einigen Details wirkt es jedoch etwas unvollständig. Auch reicht das Haus meiner Meinung nach nicht für 8 Personen. Das Schlafzimmer im EG ist schön, mit Doppelbett, zwei Konsölchen, Schrank und angrenzendem Badezimmer mit WC und Dusche. Ebenso ist ein Schlafzimmer im OG sehr schön mit Wandschrank und zwei Konsölchen. Im OG gibt es ein weiteres Badezimmer mit Badewanne und ein separates WC. Das ist etwas ungleich zu dem unteren Schlafzimmer, das über ein eigenes Bad verfügt, vor allem, wenn man vielleicht nicht als Familie Urlaub macht. Ein separates WC ist im EG aber auch noch vorhanden. Sehr unschön haben wir die zwei anderen Schlafzimmer empfunden. Sie hatten zwar auch Doppelbetten, aber es gab kein Konsölchen, keine Lampen an den Betten und auch keine Steckdosen, um eine Lampe aus einem anderen Raum dort anzuschließen. Ebenso gab es dort keine Kleiderschränke. Dort gab es nur zwei Regale und vor allem in einem der Zimmer war es ein Eckregal, das für Kleidung kaum genutzt werden konnte. In der Küche war der Hebel vom Wasserkocher abgebrochen. Wir hätten auch gerne eine Thermoskanne vorgefunden, womit der Kaffee besser warmgehalten werden kann, sie war aber nicht vorhanden. Die Umgebung vom Haus ist wunderschön. Ringsherum ist es von Bäumen umgeben und man kann im Sommer herrlich draußen sitzen. Für einen Spaziergang ist man sehr schnell in den Dünen und im Wäldchen.
