Great downtown location

Good hotel in the middle of Dar es Salaam. We walked to a city tour which was very fascinating. Hotel provided timely airport transfer for a fee, room were nice and service was outstanding. Nice harbor view from breakfast.

Checking in was seamless. Exceptional service and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Raju attended right away to assist with the safe in my son's unit. Very personable and willing to go above and beyond. We stayed at this hotel 20 years ago and glad we chose to stay again. Great location with a beautiful view. Room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Highly recommend this hotel.

I have been coming to this hotel every year. I have always had a good experience. Location is the best. Breakfast is good but it can be improved. Both the receptionist are good , responsive and excellent service.

Best staff you can find in Dar. From outside the Hotel doesn´t look that good, but the rooms (+12th floor with ocean view) are really good. I´ve been in more than 10 different hotels during my 20 visits of Dar in the last 10 years, this is my hotel for the next 10 to come. Only thing that should be improved is the breakfast.

Exellent hotell close to the ferrie terminal. We walked from the terminal to the hotell, with some help from google maps it was easy. A litle confusing finding the lobby - its on the 11th floor... the staff was serviceminded and the food in the restaurant was really good. We had a night flight and got the possibility to stay with My son at his room during the day and enjyoing the facilities at site (he was staying an additional night).

A good apt. hotel, good bed, spacious, friendly and service minded staff. good swimming pool. express elevator up to reception. a bit of a walk to get to the room, as one needed use elevator in different part of building, but was not a problem. good breakfast, nice view. casino and restaurants in ground floor. a bit problem with some tv channels, but for me was not issue. internet strong and good. the A/C was a bit loud, but you could work around it so no bother you. recommend place, would stay there again. Recommended.

We were picked up at the airport exactly as described. The porter escorted us to the 11th floor reception and everyone was very helpful. In fact the porter walked us to the ferry office to get our tickets for the next day. This was early above and beyond customer service. We ate at the restaurant and the food was OK and prices reasonable. Unfortunately the windows were quite dirty, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the view of the harbor. While Dar es Salaam is working hard to improve the city, it has a long way to go. We were hoping to take a walk and that just wasn’t possible without being hassled. The hotel did everything they could to reduce that experience but there is only so much they could do. If I needed to stay in the city center, I would stay there.

The room was facing through hundreds of air condition units of next building, and balcony door was not closing. Rooms and furnitute was old. We changed the room. Ac position was direcly on the bed and smelly we had to open it as it was so hot if we did not. Bed was not so comfortable and duvets was so thick for summer. I hardly fall into sleep because of temperature control. Bathtub was so disgusting that I did not take a shower. And lastly: there were 2 baby cockroaches in bathroom. To sum up: do not consider here, till they renew the rooms. It does not have fair price for such rooms. Yet the restaurant and staff was good.

Ok but that's about it

As a frequent traveler with extensive experience across hotels in Dar es Salaam, I recently stayed at Harbour View Suites following a last-minute flight cancellation. My visit lasted only one night, which may limit the scope of my assessment, but certain impressions were clear. I had booked through Hotels.com and upon arrival was told the hotel was fully booked. For a moment, I was almost relieved, as the reception area was rather uninspiring and lacked the appeal one would expect from a hotel in this category. Eventually, I was given a room, possibly because payment had already been processed, but the experience did not set a reassuring tone. Once upstairs, the atmosphere changed slightly. The corridors and room areas were noticeably better maintained, and the room itself was clean and functional. For a one-night stay, it was adequate. However, it is not the kind of hotel that invites a return. While the basics were covered, there was nothing particularly compelling in terms of comfort, service, or overall ambience. In a city like Dar es Salaam, where I have stayed in numerous hotels, Harbour View Suites would not rank among my preferred options. I would place it around 6 to 7 out of 10. It serves its purpose in a pinch but falls short of delivering a memorable or satisfying experience.
