We were satisfied with our stay. Home was very clean! Quiet neighborhood and Walking distance for groceries. Located right on the Creeper Trail. Will stay there again.

Convenient to the Virginia Creeper and other Trails.
It was good for a couple of days. Plenty of cleaning supplies and kitchen utensil's. No closets or drawers to put clothes.
Would stay again if a short visit.
We enjoyed staying at this cute little house when we came to town to bike the Virginia Creeper! It was very clean and had everything that we needed. Only complaint would be the plastic mattress covers. But otherwise it was perfect for us!
It is a very convenient location. Across the street is the Grocery store with gasoline and the pizza/sandwich shop. Later, we did walk 250 yards to the brewery. Small parking area for a large p/u truck. Biggest drawback is that it is only 15 feet from the main road going through Damascus, which tends to be busy and noisy. And no front or back usable porch..

The location is the best thing going for it. When renting, be sure to pack ant spray and wear socks, you’ll need them. If the only thing you plan to do is sleep, then you’ll be fine
The cottage was an excellent base for our biking, hiking, kayaking week. You can walk to the grocery store, the brewery, and several restaurants. The Virginia Creeper trail was across the road. We were very comfortable there. The host was very responsive with communications. Great value!
Had everything we needed. 2 comfortable beds, an adequate kitchen (could use a few more utensils) and a clean environment. The road was a little noisy but enough to stop us from going back.
Perfect spot for the Virginia Creeper Trail. Tidy and convenient.

The cottage is nice and communication was good. The town of Damascus is very small, so be mindful that theres not any food/stores open late. Overall, I stayed at the house while attending the race in Bristol. The cottage took about 40 minutes to get to, including traffic from Bristol Motor speedway.
It’s a great little house. But it’s NOT located directly across from the food city. It’s more like 100 yards east. (Took me a couple swing bys to finally find it) And the noise of the highway traffic can be a little frustrating when trying to fall asleep. The noise was not unbearable but it could be a factor for some people.
Very clean but smelled old. Was perfect for a one night stay but was very close to the road and heard cars all night.

While the cottage is affordable and cute, it's infested with ants. Even found one in the bed. We haven't been able to have any food on the counter without ants getting it all. Went to cook in the stove and it's filthy. Maybe have a person come and deep clean and an exterminator.
The Cottage was very clean and just what I expected. Had everything rhat qe needed. Wish I had known the dryer wasnt working and I would not have washed clothes. Just put them on the porch rail to dry. The property manager contacted me later in the day and offered to send someone to fix it. I really appreciated the offer but the clothes were dry by then.

Ants and cobwebs
Cobwebs throughout the place. Bad painting and some spots not painted. Ants in the bathroom. 5:30 am cars stopping next to the place blasting Spanish music. Bad musty smell. Couldnt open windows to air out due to no screens in the windows. Tried to add photos but it wont let me.
I can't really review the property because I could not stay and utilize it. Opened the door, was very hot inside, no lights would come on, refrigerator/freezer was warn inside. Circuit breakers were not tripped. Apparently no power to the cottage at all. The host did not know when power would be restored, so we left with no place to stay. There were no other vacancies in the area, so we drove home dejected. What a waste of driving and our plans fell through. Since the place was warm, the power must have been off for a few days. Host allowed full refund, but VRBO would not allow it. So I am fighting with VRBO to provide 100% refund. They still owe me $55 and they are ignoring my emails. Been about 9 days since I heard from them and now I started a credit card dispute. What terrible customer service with VRBO. They should provide me with some kind of compensation for all our troubles. But instead I have taken plenty of time to deal with this problem that I did not cause and they ignore the situation.
