Expectations vs. Reality

As a family, we hadn't gone on vacation since 2018 so our expectations and standards were high again as usual. Granted, when you book a beach house it's almost a role of the dice. Decided to go with VRBO this time. First, note that the homes in this neighborhood are very close together. No privacy and a lot of traffic. The permanent residents (2-4 that we saw) there appeared to not really care for us renting. I get it, but oh well. The home is a nice size. The hot tub needs repair or replaced. There are no rugs except for the living room. There were mice droppings in the kitchen on the counters the first couple days. BEWARE! The amount of flies that were in the house and around the pool area were unbelievable. The home comes with 4-5 fly swatters. It was just disgusting. Recommend that you spend the money needed to have a home that more than likely will not disappoint. The best feature was the pool (loved it), the elevator, and the rental bikes. The outdoor TV did not work for most of our stay. It was replaced the day before we left. If you have any issues with the home, the maintenance guys are awesome. Very responsive, respectful, and friendly. Make sure to email them for service requests.

Great Beach House

Lovely beach house with lots of room and great amenities. Quick walking distance to the beach. Only negative is the carpet in the family is really dirty which is a shame because the rest of the house is so great.Ten family members in our party and everyone had a great time, grandkids, kids and grandparents! Wonderful trip and an awesome house.

The house was great. Clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the house felt like a home. The pool and hot tub were great as well. I had to call for maintenance for a small issue and they were impressively responsive! I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it!

Seaglass is an amazing home

Location and amenities of property were great. Only drawback was cleanliness, carpeting, throw rugs, even furniture was badly soiled. Response to maintenance was excellent. Owner needs to clean up.

Our stay

We enjoyed the family time together. Great weather and loved the location. Home is nice and accommodating for our family. We got immediate responses with any concerns. Would just ask they get the home checked out for the 2nd floor air conditioning. One room stayed 83 degrees the whole week. No air coming out of floor vent. Would rent again if those issues are fixed. For now we have selected another home in the neighborhood for next year.

Great Location

This is a great house in a great location. It is exactly as pictured online. Easy communication with the management team when we had a tiny issue with the pool heater and the pool guy was out within minutes. Plenty of room for everyone, quick walk to the beach, and beautifully decorated. Tons of bathrooms - no sharing! Don't have any hesitation about booking this property! We plan on coming back.

OBX NYE 2021

The Sea Glass house is a lovely property with a wonderful layout. Guests are provided many amenities to enjoy within the house as well as outside, it's a short walk to the beach, and an easy bike ride to various local businesses. However, it does warrant some immediate TLC during the off season. Due to the time of year, I was more accepting of the fact that the living room couch and carpeting/area rugs/mats all required replacement or a thorough cleaning at the very least and the outside needed power-washing. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the Sea Glass house and would love to rent it again during a summer month!

BEST VACATION EVER!

This house was beautiful and the management company was very helpful and prompt. The property was really clean and the check-in was super smooth. The heated pool is a must from now on!! We had not been to OBX in 20 years, but I think the stay has really changed how we feel about making this an annual visit.

Beautiful updated home

The home was truly lovely with every room having their own bathrooms. Beautiful updated kitchen and baths. Also, we loved how everything was labeled for us in the kitchen. The biggest issue is the cleanliness. The cleaning crew needs to step up. Underneath the sofa was filthy . I don’t think they ever cleaned under there. The carpets need to be changed out as they are very badly stained. The other issue is how dirty the sectional is. Maybe invest in slip covers. ? We did very much appreciate the elevator and the pool area. The proximity to the beach was wonderful.

Overall good house

Had some concerns with cleanliness. The rooms with carpeting were stained as well as couch and chairs in living room. Otherwise house was beautiful. Pool was much smaller than appeared on line. With family of 14 (6 kids) felt crammed. Also felt no privacy as houses felt on top of each other compared to last house we rented near shops. House was good proximity to beach and shops. Elevator was so great to have. Kids loved the game room and adults loved kitchen and the very decent size fridge and freezer.

We will definitely be back!

My family and I had the best time at Seaglass. The pool was great and the living area and kitchen were perfect for our group of 12. The only u issue was tge freezer. I did not start working until Wednesday and I had reached out several times to maintenance. There were a few minor issues that were remediated in a very timely manner.

Wonderful OBX home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - this property really has it all. 4 master bedrooms, kids' rooms, large kitchen and living room areas, elevator - the entire layout of the house is great. The communication between the rental company was efficient and informative. The only issue we had was with the TV (cable went out at one point), and the maintenance team was quick to fix it. We will be back again!

Nice stay

I’d have to say we had a few bumps from a ceiling leak in basement - getting stuck in elevator and hot tub taking awhile to heat up but management company was very attentive. Kitchen was rather sparse and more like dollar store pots/pans and utensils. Overall nice house and enjoyed our family time.

Ocean Sands

Great location; steps from the beach and 5 minutes from the Harris Teeter grocery store. The open dining living room space is beautiful with more than ample room. Lovely sunrise views from the deck. Teens enjoyed having a gaming room and pool.

Great gathering for friends

All in all in was a very enjoyable stay, there were some broken items from the previous guests but they were being addressed. House was stocked and conveniently located to the beach and shopping. Bedrooms spanned all 3 floors which worked out perfectly. You’ll workout any vacation weight by walking up and down those stairs all week, ha. We would stay again.

Excellent location and light-filled, well-appointed, comfortable home

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this home. It's a very functional property located one block from the beach and just a few minutes from Harris Teeter and, in the other direction, from shops, water sports and specialty food shops. Great amenities to please our entire crew: hot tub, pool, pool table, grill, etc. A couple of notes that kept me from giving this property 5 stars: the place was not terribly clean upon our arrival, as we found a few nuggets of dog food on the floor in the dining area, old human food just in front of the toe kick in pretty much the entire kitchen, and, the biggest issue: pots and pans that looked like they were from WWII. The non-stick coating on ALL of the pots has worn off to the point where, when I boiled pasta in the pot, pieces of the coating were stuck to the pasta.
