MUST HAVE A TRUE 4X4 VEHICLE! To access the property via beach road. (6.75 miles from the paved road) sugary sand, ground clearance could be an issue. 7.5”+ of ground clearance is recommended.
Air down tires to 18-20psi.

Only a short walk (1500ft) to the beach from this 4th row beach cottage. Enjoy the 4x4 family friendly beach. Located near the Corolla wild horses, great surf fishing, with magnificent sun rises and sun sets. A short drive to shopping, dinning, the Corolla historic village and light house. Public boat launch located at Carova park.

Enjoy the ocean breeze on the large covered deck of this cottage with a screened in room for a private setting. Two king master suites. Full size bunk beds in hall loft. 2.5 bath with an outdoor shower to rinse sand and salt from the ocean. Spacious kitchen with dining room table.

Bath towels, sheet and bed spreads. cleaned between guests.
Disinfected between renters.
Includes washer and dryer usage.
Charcoal grill provided. Please bring your own charcoal.
Dogs are the only pets permitted, pet fee applies.
NO FIRES in fireplace.

Absolutely amazing! One of our best vacations yet. The house was perfect, felt like home away from home. We saw the horses almost everyday. Lots of history in the area. This place exceeded our expectations!

Nice Place

Have stayed in several places in Carova, this is one of our favorites. The house was very clean and had ample space and amenities. Communication from the owner was great. Plenty of privacy and is on the south side of Carova, so it's closer to the 4x4 access. Would stay here again.

Beautiful and Peaceful Property

We loved our stay here. The home was beautiful, well maintained, and very clean. Check in/out was easy. The surrounding property is lush and private. Very family and dog friendly. 4x4 is of course a must, as it’s a hike from the pavement down the beach. Grocery/food options are nonexistent nearby but the seclusion is what makes this area special.

We had a great stay at Shore Relaxing! The house was clean and just as described. Plenty of space for our family. It had all the necessary amenities and was comfortable. It was just a short walk to the beach but we often drove to transport coolers, chairs, etc. We loved seeing the horses right in our driveway! We would absolutely stay here again!!

Perfect beach getaway

We loved our stay at the property! Everything was extremely clean and this was a well-stocked home with excellent amenities and everything you need for a small or large group. It was a cooler time of year, but we still enjoyed beach walks and drives around where we would see the horses. The owners provided clear instructions and their info on airing down for beach access was essential!

The house was very clean and in great shape. It also had just about everything that you need - spices, condiments, games, beach chairs and beach games, etc. The owners are very responsive and answered all of my questions about the property and the area.

Wonderful House

My family loved this house! My husband, son, and I brought our Coonhound and another couple to the beach! Everything was provided for our week! The house is so well stocked for cooking and hanging out at the house! The beds were comfortable, the living room furniture was comfortable, the house was perfect for 2 couples and a child! We truly enjoyed our week at Shore Relaxing!!

Serenity and Relaxation

From the start of our reservation through our stay the property owners were very responsive to any questions we had. The property was bright, spacious, very clean and perfect for our stay. We loved the ability to cook some meals and appreciated having some of the basic seasonings and condiments available. The location was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the 4 x 4 beach along with plenty of sightings of the wild horses. Perfect stay! We highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to escape to a quiet remote area with all the amenities.

Shore Relaxing

The name of this property says it all. The house was beautiful and clean. The wrap around deck was incredible. The proximity to the beach was fabulous. We saw horses a few days even got to see a baby sea turtle crossing. The owners were so responsive when we had questions and they had the house fully stocked with everything we needed.

Gem in Paradise

Shore Relaxing is an amazing place. The house is absolutely beautiful and in a great location. We spent time hiking False Cape State Park (VA)...we found a gate to enter from NC. We also explored the Currituck Beach Lighthouse Park/Maritime Museum and hiked Currituck Banks Preserve. The wild horses made daily visits which excited, cautiously, our dog Roscoe. We look forward to a return to Shore Relaxing and would recommend to family and friends.

Perfect Week

Brought my son to Outer Banks for his last vacation pre-College. The house was perfect. Clean. Everything we needed. Owner was gracious and over accommodating. I can’t say enough great things. It’s a perfect place for a small family or even two couples. Being able to bring our two small dogs made it even better.

Such a relaxing vacation

Can not say enough great things about this beach house! Hosts were great house was immaculate. They really thought of everything and even have your furry companions in mind which we really appreciated. Location was perfect for us. We saw horses everyday and even got to watch them graze in the backyard. This was everything we had hoped and more. We will definitely return ! 🐴☀️🌊

Secluded Retreat

First off, I want to give a huge Thank You to the host's of Shore Relaxing!! The name of this property should set the tone for what is to come, on a vacation. The drive out on the 4 × 4 beach is beautiful, especially when we were greeted by the wild horses. The house is amazing & has this old, world charm about it but with the modern needs. )mThe feel of the home is open & airy when you walk in the door. It was stocked with everything we needed to cook & clean up afterwards, including a washer & dryer. The only thing we had to buy is our groceries. My family loved this place & all the memories that we made while there!!!

Honestly if these owners could run all of the rentals, that would be great! This place was cleaner than clean, almost every single thing was thought of and the furnishings are lovely. The addition of the antique pieces with the beachy items, just stunning. Most everything is here if you forget it, you have a back up. There are chairs and umbrella… things you must pack sunscreen, and towels. For those with Littles, the gates are amazing. You can actually sit down because they latch and close on every place, a child or dog may stray. Really great space. Intentional and much appreciated.

Magical

Carova Beach is magical - as if time stood still. In my opinion, this is one of the loveliest houses out there. It is SPOTLESSLY clean, it has everything you need and the old world style of the home is the icing on the cake. Couldn’t be any more relaxing. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and a two minute walk from the house. Be prepared! There is NOTHING in Carova Beach. Bring water and food unless you plan on going back and forth to the pavement which isn’t exactly easy. MIND THE TIDES when getting on and off. Travel at low tide especially if you are inexperienced with 4 wheel driving. A beautiful place - we will be back. Tires down to 18!!!

Best house on 4x4!

This was my families 10th year in OBX staying on the 4x4 and this house was perfect in every way! The best layout, from the 1 set of stairs to get to the main living, the beautiful deck with sliding gate. We loved the screened porch. The convenience of the fabulous outside shower, first floor half bath and laundry room. The vintage sinks and many antiques throughout the house are awesome and we loved the open shelves in the kitchen. The bedrooms were the perfect size and love the added bonus full size bunk beds. This was the first house that was not covered in cobwebs outside it was clean clean clean, this home is so well cared for, better then ANY house we have stayed in previously. And to top it all off, there was a pantry area with many staple kitchen items as well! The owners are wonderful people and are close by if anything is needed. Can’t wait to go back next September!
