Great location and views but worn out

Everything was good for the most part. The property needs maintenance and some renovation. It's just worn out, from the deck (has soft spots, be careful!) to the interior and furniture. Non-functioning ceiling fan in the great room. If you're looking for an updated, new and shiny place, this ain't it. We had a little snafu with the housekeeping but it was taken care of. It's right up against the public beach access so there's a constant parade of cars on the street and people walking by. The houses are slap up against each other so easy to hear the other renters carrying on into the night. It served our purpose but we waited too long to rent something for our stay so choices were limited.

Great location, poor upkeep

The location is 5 out of 5. We’ve stayed all over OBX and this location is top marks. Right on the beach, easy access to the water, shops, and restaurants. The neighborhood is well lit at night for walking the dog etc. The house itself on the other hand is poorly maintained, I’m not talking about maid service or cleanliness necessarily - that was adequate. There are outlets not properly affixed to walls, many of the top floor lights flicker even when off, and there he decks are squishy. The top floor deck rail isn’t one to lean against so be careful. The teenager room is completely disconnected from the main house in every way. The rooms nice and if you have older kids it’s probably okay. The neighborhood doesn’t have a pool, so the lack of one at the house kind of stinks. The bathroom showers struggle to drain, probably from all the sand… but just something to know in advance. If I had known the above in advance I wouldn’t have rented the house and certainly won’t again.

Perfect location

I will say the beach reality is really on top of things when it comes to issues with the property! The house wasn’t the cleanest. It was very dusty on all surfaces when we arrived. Under the beds weren’t vacuumed and the kitchen cabinets weren’t wiped down. Other wise we would rent from beach reality in the future but probably not this property again. One more thing… the place was pet friendly however the back yard is not. Lots of spikey brush, be prepared to walk your dog in the neighborhood and on the beach your entire stay.

Corolla Vacation

The house was not ready and we paid for early arrival. The area outside the property in the driveway and by the walkways was strewn with trash. There was a used paper towel under one bed, an old seltzer bottle under another bed and an old sock under the couch. One bedroom had a broken bed frame with stuck out in the front by about 6 inches. The bed frame cut both my daughter and my legs. The kitchen counters had ants all over them. The back deck had a wooden staircase that lead to the back of the property. The staircase was detaching from the house and was a disaster ready to happen. The beds were absolutely awful. The most uncomfortable beds we are ever experienced in a rental. We called the rental manager and they took two days to call back. They did not offer to have the place cleaned however they did offer to have an e terminator come in. We had our dog with us so we declined and just kept all of our belongings and food off of the counter tops. Expensive disaster of a vacation. Incredibly disappointing.

House needs lots of TLC

The location is great. The view out of the dining window is beautiful. The ocean side bedrooms are able to stay cool to cold w the AC. The street side rooms stay hot and miserable. There are no ceiling fans or portable fans. The decking is quite rough—with lots of splinters ready to find fingers and toes. The extra room is a completely separate apartment. It is not attached to the internal workings of the house. That room was dirty upon arrival. Housekeeping was quick to rectify this. There are lots of chairs—some boogie boards—a few bikes too. Remember this is the only house on the beach front with no pool,too.
